We at MyNewCar get to you the top 5 vehicles that were revealed at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo. This list includes everything from a sedan to a hatchback and a SUV. As we all know that many manufacturers backed out from the Auto Expo but there were some pretty amazing launches and first time unveiling at the event.


Maruti Suzuki New Swift:


The new Swift has been the most awaited hatchback car in the Indian market. Maruti had officially started the booking a month ago and saw an overwhelming response from us. Maruti has launched the hatchback at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). Mechanically there aren't many changes and it continues to be powered with the same petrol and diesel mills which were available in the previous models. But the Indian manufacturer now has introduced an AMT gearbox to the Vxi, Zxi, Vdi and Zdi trims. Along with the front fascia is completely changed with a new facelift, redesigned front bumper and grille, along with the new design headlight with LED DRL’s and projector lights.


Hyundai Elite i20 facelift:


Before the launch, we had seeing many spy shots of this hatchback testing. We were expecting it to be launched the Auto Expo and so did it happen. Hyundai launched the Elite i20 facelift an introductory price of Rs 5.34 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The Korean manufacturer has offered this hatchback with a new design bumper, V shaped front Grille, new design headlight with integrated LED DRL’s. While only the top variant Asta Trim is offered with a projector unit. The interiors get minute changes with the positioning of the climate control being lowered to the centre and the infotainment positioned above it. It also comes with some added accents of red and orange to enhance the looks of the interiors. Mechanically the New Elite i20 remains unchanged and it is continued to be powered with the 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre diesel mill. Hyundai has also announced that it will be adding a CVT transmission to the 1.2 litre petrol mill from the month of May 2018.


Honda Amaze:


This is the new generation Amaze and it is now built on an all new platform. The Japanese car manufacturer has offered the second generation Amaze with a far more appealing look and aerodynamic design as compared to the previous model.   The new Amaze design take inspiration from its eldest sibling the Accord Hybrid. While the interiors is now more spacious than the predecessor model. It also comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and a new  a new beige and black theme. Honda still hasn't revealed anything about the engine, but the Japanese car manufacturer has confirmed a CVT gearbox coupled to a diesel engine.


Toyota Yaris:


Toyota takes the sheets off the Yaris first time in India. This sedan has the looks of that of the mini Corolla. It will be launched somewhere around in the month of May and it will be locally manufactured and sold in the Indian market. Powering the yaris is 1.5 litre petrol engine that churns out 108 horsepower. This mill is coupled to a six speed manual gearbox and an optional seven speed CVT transfer case. As of now Toyota hasn't confirmed anything about a diesel mill but it has said that it might get a hybrid technology along with it. Once launched in India it will compete head on with the Honda city. The Yaris has a shorter wheelbase as compared to the Honda City but it is wider and that leads to a spacious cabin.


Land Cruiser Prado:


Toyota showcases the new Prado which now comes equipped with a new facelift, changes to the interiors and some updated equipments. The front end gets a new design bumper, muscular hood, LED headlight unit. In addition to this, the updated Prado comes with a new design alloy wheels, peddle lamps on the wing mirrors, new design bumper and all LED tail lights. At the interiors, it now gets modern upholstery to the seats, new design speedometer and centre console. In terms of equipments, the new Prado now comes equipped with heated and cooling ventilation to the front driver and passenger seats along with an illumination unit for both the front and rear passengers. Mechanically it still remains the same and it is continued ti powered with the D-4D diesel engine which is coupled to a five speed automatic gearbox. This mills powers the all the wheels via an 4WD system.
