Government of India has announced the additional compensation cess, this has led Honda cars India Limited to increase its prices. The Japanese manufacturers has hiked the prices of the Honda City, Honda BR-V and the Honda CR-V, these hike in prices has come into effect from the 11th of September 2017. Prices of the City, BR-V and the CR-V has increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 89,000, whereas the prices of the Honda Brio, Honda Amaze, Honda Jazz and the Honda WR-V will not be affected and it will remain the same.
Toyota and Hyundai have also announced that it will be increasing it prices in the coming days. In a few days more manufacturers will soon announce the increase in prices. Whereas prices of certain mild hybrid vehicles like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga SHVS and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz SHVS have been increased. Before the price hike these vehicles used to get FAME incentives as FAME used to favour hybrid and electric vehicles. However now the government of India has withdrawn the scheme.
