Hyundai unveils the New Elite i20 at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo. The Korean automotive manufacturer has also launched the hatchback in the Indian market and with a starting price of Rs 5.34 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

 

Let's have a look at the aesthetic changes Hyundai has offered in the new Elite i20, shall we?  

First all, let’s start with the exterior. The front fascia gets a large V-Shaped Grille which is splashed in a shade of glass black, the fog lamp inserts and air dam now gets a design. Well, the headlight unit look similar to the previous model but it now gets C-shaped chrome inserts along with integrated LED- Daytime Running Lights. Only the top variant Asta trim comes equipped with projector headlamps. Moving to the rear, it gets a new design tailgate and black inserts on the rear bumper. There aren't many changes at the sides but show stealer is the new design five spoke alloy wheel with gunmetal finish on which the new Elite i20 rides.

 

Now let's step into this hatchback and have a look at the interiors. Upon entering, you will first notice that the cabin feels refreshed. It is offered with a dual tone dashboard which was also available in the previous model but feel and touch is much premium as compared to it. In addition to this, this hatchback interiors also get some red and orange accents The automatic climate control module is placed somewhere near the lower half of the centre and above it sits the touchscreen infotainment system. The top of the line Asta trim comes equipped with a multi-functional steering wheel, central MID and twin pod instrument cluster. Well, now Hyundai is offering Engine start and stop button as standard in the top end trims.  

 

Moving to the powerhouse, Hyundai continues to power the new Elite i20 with the 1.2-litre petrol mill which produces 82bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. Similar with the 1.4 litre diesel engine, it produces 89bhp of power and 220Nm of twist. Speaking of the transmission unit, Hyundai has carried ver the same Five speed manual for the petrol mill and six speed manual for the diesel engine. But here's the big news, Hyundai will be offering a CVT gearbox to the 1.2 litre petrol engine and it will launched in the month of May this year.
