If fans thought they had seen the back of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond – they’re in for a treat.
The Top Gear trio reunited in London today as they filmed scenes for their upcoming arena tour Clarkson, Hammond & May Live, renamed from the Top Gear Live tour after Clarkson’s sacking.
Shamed presenter Jeremy was seen wearing a pink scarf, a fake moustache and a pair of thick blue glasses as he joined former co-stars May and Hammond.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May together again
The trio looked in high spirits as they filmed in fancy dress, with Richard Hammondwearing a brown leather jacket, and a bushy moustache matching Jezza’s.
The tour promises to bring together ‘supercars, stunts, explosions and irreverent humour’.
Two weeks ago the group of pals were spotted in Hampshire minus fancy dress as they continued to film content for the live shows in London, Sheffield and Belfast.
Jeremy Clarkson gets a touch-up
Rowland French, creative director of the tour, said: “The three presenters have been working incredibly hard to make sure it’s better than ever before, and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing them back doing what they do best.”
Yesterday it was revealed the three presenters attended a secret rendezvous at the home of ITV channel director Peter Fincham this week.
Also present were the show’s executive producer Andy Wilman – a long-term friend of Clarkson’s who quit the BBC last month – and ITV entertainment boss Elaine Bedell, a former colleague of Clarkson.
The move comes after ITV insiders previously insisted there were “no plans” to enter into negotiations with Clarkson.
The channel’s position is believed to have shifted once it became clear that both Hammond and May would be leaving Top Gear too, along with Wilman.
BBC bosses have made it clear that they plan to relaunch Top Gear with new presenters. They were keen to retain Hammond and May in the wake of Clarkson’s dismissal, but the pair have opted to leave, with Hammond stating: “I’m not quitting my mates.”
