Ssangyong showcased us the new Musso pick-up at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This is the Korean manufacturers affordable pick up truck and it now gets upgraded interior with a standard kit.
The Musso gets a front fascia which somewhat similar as the Rexton. It also shares the same architecture as that of the Rexton. Ssangyong is offering the Musso with 81.7% high strength steel body on frame construction. The Korean manufacturer claims that this will enhance the rigidity of the pick up truck which will directly benefit with better safety and better handling during off-roading. This pick up truck gets load deck with rear door which can be folded to flatten up to provide more space.
Having a look at the cabin inside, the Ssangyong New Musso is a proper five seater pickup truck. It also gets many modern features such as 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system which is centrally mounted. This system gets Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio and also MP3 connectivity as standard across all the models. On the other hand the top spec variants gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Let's pop up the hood of this pickup truck and have a look what powers this monster. The new model Musso pick up gets its power from a 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine which produces 184 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. As compared to its previous model, this engine produces more 5 horsepower and 20Nm of twist. This mill is matted with a six-speed manual gearbox and it also id offered with an optional six-speed automatic transmission. All of the power and torque is produced is transferred to all the four wheels via part time four wheel drive system.
As of now Ssangyong hasn't announced that whether the New Musso will make its way to the Indian shore. But Ssangyong will be launching the new Rexton SUV by the Diwali season of this year.
