Swift Dzire – has achieved the 10 lakh cumulative sales mark in July, 2015. Launched in 2008, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has been the country’s best-selling entry-level sedan for the last three years.
With this milestone, the Dzire has become the only sedan to be in the top five most selling cars in the Indian passenger car market. Interestingly, other four products in the ‘elite million club’ too are from Maruti Suzuki – Alto (2.83 million), M800 (2.67 million), Omni (1.68 million), WagonR (1.63 million) and Swift (1.36 million).
Speaking on the feat, Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “DZire is a complete package. Its refreshed looks, rich equipment list, enhanced fuel efficiency, have been warmly received by customers and have enabled us to strengthen sales and enhance share in a tough market. We thank all DZire customers for their patronage to the brand”.
To celebrate this milestone, Maruti Suzuki India has begun a month-long ‘The sweets are on us’ campaign. As part of the campaign, the company will send edible direct mailers to its existing owners and create edible art installations inside malls by artists.
Just so you know, the company had updated the Swift Dzire earlier this year. The vehicle received several new features such as engine push start/stop button, reverse park assist, new motion alloy wheels, Bluetooth with audio, besides cosmetic exterior updates. The vehicle’ engines too were tuned to deliver class-leading mileage.
