Mahindra to update the Bolero to meet safety and emission norms
Mahindra is most likely to upgrade the Bolero to meet the new upcoming safety norms.
Also, it may also work on a facelift model to meet the new crash test norms.
Mahindra will most likely update the Bolero to comply with the upcoming safety requirement and the BS-VI emission norms. An updated Mahindra Bolero will boast of additional safety features and an updated powertrain.
According to some media reports, it states that the Bolero will be offered with ABS as standard across all its variant starting from this month.
Also by the 1st of July 2019, Mahindra will also bring in other safety features such ass driver’s side airbag, seat belt warning system, rear parking sensors and high-speed warning system as standard in the Bolero as well. This will be done as these safety features will be mandatory in all the cars from that date.
Also according to the new crash test norms that will be applicable from the 1st of October 2019, Mahindra will be upgrading the Bolero to meet the new frontal offset and side crash test.
This doesn't end here, just before 1st of April 2020 the Bolero will most likely feature a reworked front end to meet the pedestrian safety norms. For this, it is expected that the Bolero will have a higher bonnet and redesigned front grille and revamped front bumper.
Moving to the mechanical part, Mahindra will most likely update same the 2.5-litre m2Di diesel mill to meet the upcoming BS-VI emission norms.
As of now, it is not clear whether Mahindra will power the Bolero with its mHawk engine at a later stage, but given to the extra cost of upgrading the hardware to meet the BS-VI norms, it doesn't seem practical and profitable for the company.
