Talking about the aesthetics, we can see that Hyundai has offered the new Elantra with modern styling updates. At the front, these updates includes the newly designed headlamp unit which holds the LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL’s), beefed up bonnet, revised front grille, new design bumper which holds the triangular fog lamps. Moving towards the sides, it can be noticed that this executive sedan runs on larger and newly design alloy wheels. As compared to the current generation model, it runs on 16 inch alloy wheels, this upcoming model will get 18 inch alloy wheels. The other design elements remain the same at the side profile.
At the rear, the Korean auto manufacturer has equipped the Elantra with a revised rear bumper. Along with this, it gets tapering tail lamp unit which moves towards the hood and the reverse lights and the rear fog lamps are housed at the bottom of the bumper. On the other hand, now the license plate housing has been moved from the boot, towards the bottom of the rear bumper, just like the New Hyundai Sonata.
Much hasn’t been changed inside the car, but there are some updates to the equipment with the use of modern technology. On the higher spec trims, Hyundai will be equipping the new Elantra with a 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment unit which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Whereas, the lower spec trims will get the 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment unit which was available on the previous models.
Hyundai has updated the safety kit on this new generation Elantra. These mostly include active safety features such as blind spot monitoring system, automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning, lane departure warning system, active lane control, cross traffic alert system and a rear view camera.
Hyundai is all set for the launch for the new Elantra in the American market and the as per the specs there isn’t any changes as compare to the previous model. As the Honda will be launching the new generation Civic and Toyota has also plans for the new Camry for the Indian market, Hyundai will most probably get the New Elantra on the Indian soil. If all goes well, the Korean manufacturer will launch this new generation executive sedan in the Indian market somewhere around the mid of 2019. Upon its launch in India, it will compete head on with the Upcoming Honda Civic, 2019 Toyota Camry and the Skoda Superb.
