We have some good news for all you Jeep Compass lover who were waiting for some news for the Compass Trailhawk edition. Dealers in India have started accepting bookings for the Compass Trailhawk SUV with a booking amount of Rs 50,000. Jeep hasn't launched the Compass Trailhawk SUV in India, but according to some sources it is expected to be launched somewhere around the month of June end or July start.
As we said that, the Compass Trailhawk isn't launched in India, but it is being manufactured at Jeep’s Ranjangaon plant. These models are being manufactured and are exported to countries such as Australia and Japan. Once launched Jeep will position the Compass Trailhawk above the current top spec variant of the Compass.
The models of the Trailhawk edition which are being exported comes equipped with Jeep’s own Active Drive low-range four wheel drive technology. In addition to this, it also gets a new driving mode named as ‘Rock Mode’ for some fun off-roading. In comparison with the standard variant, the Trailhawk variant is 20mm higher and it also gets new design front and rear bumper which helps in better approach and departure while offroading.
Aesthetically, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk variant comes with a new design alloy wheel, recovery hooks painted in red, the front bonnet is painted black and it also gets some decals, the body gets a dual tone paint scheme of black and silver. In addition to this Jeep is also providing underbody skid plates and all weather floor matting.
Under the hood of the Compass Trailhawk is the same 2.0 litre diesel engine. This mill will be coupled with a nine speed automatic gearbox. It will be missing out on a manual transmission. This diesel engine is capable of producing 171 bhp of power and 350Nm of twist.
