The BS6 era is finally here and the automakers are trying to keep up to get all the pre-existing models with revised engines in the market as soon as possible. Since the diesel engine will be taking the most tweaking, the prices of diesel cars may increase by Rs. 1 lakh in the near future. This new rule has proven to be a huge setback for once popular diesel cars and as a result, big brands like Maruti Suzuki are planning to skip on most of its diesel powered engines. The same cannot be said for Hyundai as Hyundai will also provide a diesel BS6 option for its pre-existing car models. The brand has announced to introduce most of the BS6 counterparts of the popular cars along with its diesel engines.
Here are few of the most popular bs6 cars that are already in market:
1. Hyundai Grand I10 Nios
The Nios version of i10 is also available with BS6 compliance. The petrol unit makes 83PS power and 114Nm and is available with a 5-speed MT and AMT. This is the only petrol unit available as BS6 right now. The car is priced between Rs. 4.99-7.99 lakhs.
2. Hyundai Elantra
The BS6 compliance has followed the sedan as well. With new facelift ditching the diesel variant and offering a petrol only BS6 compliant option to the crowd, Hyundai Elantra is one of the few BS6 sedans in market. The unit is a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol engine that provides 152ps power at 192nm torque with 14.6 kmpl of mileage. The price ranges from Rs 15.89 lakh to Rs 20.39 lakh.
