Maruti Suzuki getting the 1.5L Diesel ready for the Ciaz
According to some reports, we get to know that Maruti Suzuki is currently working a new 1.5 litre diesel mill. With the introduction of this new oil burner it will most likely replace the Fiat sourced 1.3 litre diesel powerhouse. It is also known that this 1.5 litre diesel unit is also set for its launch and it will be available as an option on the Ciaz.
In terms of the specs, this is a 1498cc, four cylinder DDiS 225 diesel unit which will also be available with hybrid technology on the Ciaz. This new mill will be capable of churning out 94 bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 225Nm of twist at 1500 to 2000 rpm. According to Maruti this engine will be light in weight and it will also come equipped with a dual mass flywheel. It is expected that this 1.5 litre diesel mill will give out a fuel economy of 26.82 km per litre.
As of now, the Maruti powers its models with a 1.3 litre diesel unit from Fiat which is also seen in the Ciaz. This mill won't be upgraded to meet the new emission norms and it will be discontinued in 2019. And according to some official at Maruti, all the models with the BS-IV engine will not be produced after 31st December 2019.
So until the BS-VI engine norms come into action, Maruti will be providing its models with an optional 1.3 litre diesel unit as well. This four cylinder mill produces 89 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. The new 1.5 litre diesel mill will first launch with the Ciaz and it is expected that Maruti will soon offer this mill on its other models as well in the future.
Interiors of the Tata 45X spied
As we are waiting eagerly for the launch of the 45X, new spy images of its interiors are being surfaced all over the internet. With this spy images, we get a clear view of the interiors as well as the instrument cluster.
from the images leaked we can see that the dashboard gets dual tone finish and on the other hand it also gets some chrome inserts on it. Also, upfront that will take your notice is the floating touchscreen infotainment unit. It gets automatic climate control and the controls on it are similar to the one seen on the Harrier SUV and under this console, Tata has placed a 12V charging port.
Moving towards the driver's side, it gets a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel which gets a flat bottom giving it a sporty look. Towards the right-hand side of this steering wheel, the engine START and OFF button are placed.
The second image is claimed to be the instrument cluster of the 45X. This cluster gets analogue speedometer on the right-hand side, on the other hand, it gets the digital screen which consists of the tachometer and the MID is placed on the left-hand side.
Once launched, the upcoming Tata 45X hatchback will lock its horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai i20 in the Indian market. According to some reports it is expected that Tata will power the 45X with a 1.2 litre, three cylinder petrol mill and it will also get an oil burner as well which is the 1.5 litre four cylinder mill. These are the same engine options which power the Nexon.

Just before the official launch of the New Gen WagonR, the hatchback has been spotted at a dealer’s stockyard. With this, we get to know some exclusive details of this upcoming hatchback. Maruti has not only upgraded it with cosmetic details it also gets some modern features and new upgrades mechanically.
Aesthetically, the new WagonR now looks bigger and hence it is also very spacious than before. Like before, the WagonR still retains its tall boy stance but it is now blended with a cross-MPV styled design. Upfront, the headlights are large, the fog lamps get some chrome inserts around it and the grille is now redesigned.
In addition to this, the front bumper is also redesigned and it also gets a black air intake, the bonnet, on the other hand, is a bit flatter than the previous model and is a bit less angular. Whereas towards the rear, the main element that takes your attention is the tail lamp unit which is now vertically stacked along the C-Pillar, it also gets some chrome inserts around the defogger and comes with a roof-mounted spoiler to give its sporty look.
On the inside, the 2019 Wagon R gets a dual tone finish for the interiors along with beige and brown upholstery. The dashboard is also redesigned and it holds revised instrument cluster and the top trim level gets a touchscreen infotainment unit. The spied model which is expected to be the top variant model was equipped with a 12V charging socket, electrically adjustable ORVM’s, all power windows, multifunctional steering wheel and manual A/C.
It is expected that Maruti will continue to power the WagonR with a 1.0 litre three pot petrol mill. However, it is also expected that top trim Wagon R will be powered with a 1.2 litre, four cylinder petrol engine which can generate 82bhp of power and 115Nm of twist. This is the similar engine that powers the Ignis and the New Swift. Maruti will also be offering an AMT gearbox as an option as well. In terms of the safety kit, Maruti will be equipping this hatchback with front dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all the models.
With the new facelift coming in, the price tag for this hatchback will also be on the higher side in comparisons with its previous models. Once launched the new WagonR will give a tough competition to the new Hyundai Santro and the Tata Tiago. Spotted testing: DS 7 Crossback
For the first time on the Indian roads, the DS 7 Crossback has been spotted conducting test runs. This test mule was not camouflaged and it was spotted recently in Delhi. Hence this helps to suggest that Groupe PSA might be evaluating this compact SUV for the Indian market.
At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the DS 7 Crossback was showcased and it is based on the EMP2 platform. In terms of dimensions, this compact SUV measures 4573mm in length, 1895mm in width and it has a height of 1625mm. Aesthetically, upfront the DS 7 Crossback gets hexagon-ally designed grille which is flanked by a set of LED headlamp units. The bumper on the front also holds a pair of L-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRL’s) and below at the bottom of the bumper, there is a set of wide air dams along with fog lamps.
Moving towards the rear end of this compact SUV, you will first notice that it gets slim tail light units and the rear bumper is offered with a dual tone finish. At the bottom of the rear bumper, it gets integrated reflectors and for a sporty feel and finish it comes with chrome exhaust tips. To pull up the appearance of this compact SUV it gets some bling of chrome on the surroundings of the front grille, window and on the lip of the tailgate.
Under the hood of the International spec DS 7 Cross back is an option between the 1.6 litre and 1.2 litre turbo petrol mills. In terms of a diesel engine, there is an option between a 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre units. These engines come matted with a six speed manual transmission and it also gets and an eight-speed automatic gearbox as an option for the international market. As of now it isn't clear which engine and gearbox options will be offered for the Indian spec model.
The spy shots only show the details of the exterior, whereas the interiors for the Indian spec model is still unknown. In the coming time, we can expect some more details to be revealed about the DS 7 Crossback. But its still unclear whether DS 7 will be launched in India or not.
