Recently we have been looking at the spy shots of the 45X hatchback from Tata which are been floating all over the internet. Although the enthusiasm for this hatchback has increased among the masses right from its unveiling at the 2018 Auto Expo which was held in the nation's capital.
According to some sources, we come to know that Tata Motors plans to launch its upcoming hatchback somewhere in the mid of 2019. As of now, the Indian manufacturer is extensively working and conducting test runs for the same. From the new spy shots, we get to know how will the production spec model will look like.
These spy shots shed some light of the front ends of the 45X hatchback which helps in revealing many interesting details. The face of the production spec 45X looks very identical to the concept model which was unveiled at the Auto Expo. This is also the same in the case of the Harrier, as the face of the upcoming SUV is also very identical to its concept model.
Hence the 45X will be the second product from Tata Motor’s stable to be base on the new Impact Design 2.0 platform. Tata Motors describes this as the “Humanity Line”, in which the inset front grille is designed in such a way that it stretches to merge with the headlight units and makes it look like a single design element.
Also in the spy shots, it is visible that the 45X hatchback gets angular elements which are part of the front bumper. Some elements front the side profile can also be seen like the prominent shoulder line that runs from the front door all the way back to the tail light unit. This hatchback was seen running on large four-spoke alloy wheels and as Tata promised that the cars based on the Impact Design 2.0 philosophy will get best in class large wheels and chunky wheel arches.
Previously the interiors of the hatchback were leaked and according to it, we come to know that the 45X will be equipped with the largest touchscreen infotainment unit in its segment. This hatchback will also get analogue dials, AC vents under the centre screen and T-shaped centre console.
As Tata Motors had suggested, the cars built of the Impact Design 2.0, will boast of various colour combinations and top notch quality materials. In addition to this, Tata will also get in option for the customers for personalisation with the help of multiple accessory options to choose from.
The mechanical part of the 45X hatchback is very scarce, but it can be expected that Tata Motors will power it with the peppy versions of the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. These units will be similar to the ones which power the Tata Nexon. In terms of transmission, a six-speed manual gearbox is expected, while there is also a twin-clutch gearbox that is in development.
Tata Motors has also tested the 45X at the Kari Motor Speedway at Coimbatore, this could be likely for the suspension and dynamics traits. Once launched the 45X hatchback will compete for head-on with the Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai i20. Stay tuned to MyNewCar to know more about Tata’s upcoming 45X hatchback.
