Nissan Kick's variants and paint schemes revealed
Before the launch of the Nissan Kicks, the procedure of this compact SUV has been leaked. According to this leaked brochure, we get to know that Nissan will be launching this compact SUV in four petrol and four diesel trim levels. In addition to this, the Kicks will be offered with seven different single paint options along with four dual tone paint schemes. These four dual tone paint options will only be available for the XV pre and optional trim levels.
In terms modern features and technology, Nissan is offering all the variants with front dual airbags, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL’s), power windows, electrically adjustable ORVM’s with integrated indicators, driver's seat height adjustments and climate control with rear AC vents. The top trim levels of the Kicks will be offered with four airbags, all LED headlamp units, rear fog lamps, hill start assist, push-button start, 360-degree surround camera, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
On the other hand, the base variant of the Kicks will be offered in a total of seven paint schemes which include- white, silver, grey, orange, blue, black and red. Whereas the top trim levels will be offered in dual tone paint schemes which include- white and orange, white and black, grey and orange and red and black.
Nissan will be powering the Kicks with an optional 1.5-litre petrol mill and 1.5-litre diesel unit. The petrol mill is capable of churning out 105 bhp of power and 142Nm of twist, whereas the oil burner generates 108bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. The petrol mill comes coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox while the diesel mill will come matted with a six manual gearbox.
With this, Nissan will be launching the Kicks on the 22nd of January and once launched it will compete for head-on with the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon. The Honda City SV trim is now the entry-level model
Back in the February 2017, Honda had launched the facelift model for the City. With that, the S trim was the base variant for the City and now Honda has officially discontinued this variant. As of now the City SV (Manual Transmission) now becomes the entry-level model and it is priced at Rs 9.70 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
In terms of features and modern technology, Honda offers the City SV variant with LED DRL’s but the headlamp unit gets Halogen setup, multifunction steering wheel, and audio system which has Bluetooth Connectivity, automatic climate control for utmost comfort and it also gets ac vents at the rear. In addition to this, the City SV trim runs on 15-inch alloy wheels, for those highway runs it comes equipped with cruise control and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVM’s. The higher trim levels of the City get all LED Headlight units and 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Honda also offers the SV (Manual Transmission) trim with an option of both a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol mill is a 1.5 litre, four-cylinder unit which is capable of generating 117 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. Whereas the diesel mill is also a 1.5 litre, four cylinder unit that produces 99 bhp of power at 3,600 rpm and 200Nm of twist at 1,750rpm. The petrol mill here is matted with a five speed manual gearbox and it also comes with an option of a CVT unit, on the other hand, the diesel unit is coupled with a six speed manual gearbox only.

Mahindra launches an eight seater variant for the Marazzo
When Mahindra launched the Marazzo, it was only available in a seven seater option. Now, the top spec trim levels of the Marazzo is offered with an eight seater variant. In terms of the pricing, the eight seater model gets a hike of almost Rs 8000 in comparison with the top spec seven seater trim. Hence, Mahindra retails the eight seater Marazzo M8 variant at Rs 13.98 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India).
Just like the seven seaters M8 trim, the eight seater version also comes equipped with features such as a Seven inch touch screen infotainment unit which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it also gets reverse parking camera, cruise control for long stretches and automatic climate control for a comfortable drive. In addition to this, this variant runs on 17-inch alloy wheels, it gets electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors, Daytime running Lights and leatherette seats.
Just like the lower spec model, even the eight seats M8 trim of the Marazzo is powered with a 1.5 litre, diesel mill. This oil burner generates 123 horsepower and is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. As of now, there is now automatic gearbox nor an option of a petrol engine for the Marazzo, but according to some reports, it is known that an AMT unit and a petrol engine is under work. We can expect that Mahindra will get in the AMT equipped Marazzo somewhere around the year 2020 and along with this even the petrol powerhouse could be launched.

Kia plans to get in a cross-hatch for the India market
According to some media reports, we get to know that, Kia is working on the third model for the Indian market. This will most probably be a cross-hatchback and it could be based on the new generation Rio from Kia Motors. It is expected that Kia will launch this cross-hatchback in the year 2021.
As of now, in the Chinese and Russian market, Kia is offering the Rio based cross-hatchback and it is known as the K2 Cross. It is expected that the Indian spec model will be shorter than four meters following the Indian taxation system and keeping it in the lower tax bracket.
There isn't any confirmation about the engine options and the transmission option which will be available on the Indian spec model. But it is expected that Kia will most likely share the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit and the 1.5-litre diesel motor from its compact SUV with this cross-hatch.
Once launched in the Indian market, this crosshatch from Kia will be positioned in the same segment in which the Hyundai i20 Active falls into. Mahindra will be launching the XUV300 on the 14th of February
Mahindra officially announces that they will be launching the XUV 300 in India on the 14th of February 2019. With this launch, the Indian car manufacturer is all set to compete in the Compact SUV segment in the Indian Automotive market. Mahindra will be offering the upcoming XUV300 in both the petrol and diesel mills.
The Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s platform, but it also gets some modifications to it which makes this model fall into the sub-four-metre bracket. This is done to reap the benefits of the low tax applied on sub four metres cars according to the taxation rules in India. Even though the XUV300 has the shortest length, Mahindra claims that it will be the widest along with the longest wheelbase in its class.
Mahindra has taken a good look into the aspect of the features and modern technology and it is expected that it will also get in the best to be above in the compact SUV segment. The base variant (W4) of the XUV300 will be equipped with front dual airbags, ABS, disc on all the four wheels, power windows on all the four windows and LED tail light units. On the other hand, the top trim level (W8 Optional) is expected that it will be equipped with additional 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, parking sensors at the front, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, seven airbags, sunroof and dual zone automatic climate control.
Coming to the mechanical part, under the hood of the Mahindra XUV300 will be two engine options- both petrol and diesel units. The petrol version XUV300 will be powered with a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit which is capable of giving 200Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel model will be powered with the same engine that powers the Marazzo. This is the 1.5-litre unit which churns out 123 horsepower and 300Nm of twist. During the launch of the XUv300, Mahindra will only get in six speed manual transmission which will be standard for both the petrol and diesel engine options. Later Mahindra will also get in an automatic gearbox for this Compact SUV.
