News of the week: The production model of the Kia SP2i spied
The production version of the SP2i is known as the Kia Seltos in the international market.
The name could be changed for the Indian market.
Kia Motors will be unveiling this SUV globally on the 20th of June in India.
Recently the production version of the Kia SP2i was spotted in its production guise. According to the images we can see above, we get to know that this SUV will be known as the Seltos. These images are most probably been taken during a commercial advertisement shoot.
On the 20th of June 2019, Kia Motors will be unveiling the Seltos globally in India. We can expect Kia Motors to launch the Seltos somewhere around the end of this year or during the festive season.
If we compare the exterior design and the aesthetics of the Seltos, it matches a lot with the SP2i concept model. The highlights of the exterior design include the tiger nose grille at the front, the shoulder lines and the design of the alloy wheels.
Looking into the shots of the interior, we get to know that the cabin gets a black dashboard unit with brown inserts that can be seen on the door. These brown inserts match to the shades of the SP concept which was revealed last year at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Although from the images we see above, we get to know that Kia has named this SUV as Seltos, but this could be only limited to the European and other international markets. But the name could be different for the Indian market. According to some media reports it is rumoured that Kia could name this SUV Tuskor, Trazor or Trailster.
With this, the Seltos will be the first model from Kia Motors to be launched on the Indian soil. Once launched it will be competing for head-on with the Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Renault Duster and the Jeep Compass. Stay tuned to MyNewCar to know more about the global unveil of the Kia Seltos.
