Towards the end of the current year 2018, Suzuki will reveal the next generation of the Jimny SUV. At present the current generation model isn't being produced. It can be expected that the next gen Jimny could be unveiled at the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show which will be held in the month of October.
The new generation Suzuki Jimny has been spotted in many testing. Many design elements were got to be seen in those spy shots. According to these spy shots we can see that Suzuki has given the new generation Jimny a more retro design along with a rugged and tough look.
The new Jimny to be unveiled will be the fourth generation model and it being developed taking the feedback from the existing Jimny owners. Taking influence from its predecessors, the car design gets a 4X4 design and a box shape like body. It also gets square wheels arches and the tail light that is located low at the bumper. These design elements are similar to that of the Mercedes G-Wagon.
Under the hood of the of the next gen Jimny could be Suzuki’s 1.0 litre three cylinder turbocharged boosterjet petrol mill. It might also get a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol mill. As of for the diesel engines, Suzuki has pulled out the diesel mills from its current line-up.
For the latest Vitara Suzuki replaced the low-range gear selector with a electric rotary dial. Well, for the Next Gen Jimny could come equipped with its previous system. This will help the Jimny SUV for better off-road capabilities.
The fourth generation Jimny is currently been tested in four different countries. This will help Suzuki to develop the chassis setup and also to increase its refinement for the global market. As of now there is no official confirmation from Suzuki if the Next Generation Jimny will make its way to the Indian Automotive Market.
