Some days ago we had covered the news about the Tata Neon with an AMT gearbox. Tata Motors had launched its first compact SUV, the Nexon towards the mid half of 2017. After which it seems to have some positive response from the Indian customers and the sales count is increasing month by month.
But when the Tata Nexon was launched the only thing it was lacking behind was an AMT gearbox. After quite some time after its launch, Tata Motors have finally launched the Nexon AMT in India at Rs 9.41 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The AMT setup will be available for both the petrol and diesel engine but it will only be available on the top spec ZX+ trim.
Well, the petrol mill Nexon AMT will cost you Rs 9.41 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi), the diesel engine Nexon AMT is priced at Rs 10.3 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). As we said above and in the previous article's, the AMT transmission will only be available for the top spec trim while in the coming months it will also be available in the mid variants also.
The official booking for the Tata Nexon AMT was commenced almost 2-3 weeks ago. The booking amount was set to Rs 11,000. Also, it is expected that the deliveries for the Tata Nexon AMT should soon commence.
Aesthetically, there aren't any changes to the Nexon AMT on the interiors as well as on the exteriors. Just that it gets the AMT badging on the rear and it also gets a new shade of orange. As the Nexon AMT is based on the top ZX+ trim it gets all the features such ABS with EBD, automatic climate control, front dual airbags, wearable smart key, push button start, etc.
Under the hood is the same 1.2 litre turbocharged Nevtron engine pumping out 1.8 bhp of power and 170 NM of torque. And the 1.5 litre turbocharged Revotorq diesel mill generating 108 bhp of power and 260Nm of twist. Both the engines now come coupled with Hyperdrive S-SG which is Tara’s six speed Automated Manual Transmission. This also features different driving modes and also gets creep and crawl functions.
