The Indian automotive manufacturer, Tata Motors is gearing up to enter into a new segment with a whole new product. Yes, we are talking about the much anticipated Altroz which has been buzzing all over the internet for quite some time. It is expected that Tata Motors will be unveiling the Altroz in the Indian market somewhere around mid-July 2019.
At the recently held Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors had unveiled the close to a production model, after which it was also spotted testing with minimum camo. If you have been living under a rock, we will like to notify you that the Altroz is based on the 45X Concept. This model was showcased for the first time at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo in New Delhi.
Tata is developing the Altroz on it’s new and upcoming ALFA modular platform, with this other new model to be launched from Tata’s stable, will be based on this platform as well. The styling and design for the premium hatchback are being sported by Tata’s Impact Design 2.0 philosophy.
Powering the Altroz will be an option between two petrol and one diesel powertrains. The two petrol engine options include a 1.2-litre unit that churns out 85 bhp of power while it will also come with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill that produces 102 bhp of power that is also seen under the hood of the Nexon.
On the other hand, the diesel engine will be a 1.5-litre unit that generates 90 bhp of power. In terms of transmissions, Tata will get in the five-speed and six-speed manual units but an automatic unit will be launched on a later stage.
Once launched in India, the Tata Altoz will take over it's existing rivals such as the newly launched Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Stay tuned to MyNewCar to know more about the launch of the Tata Altroz.
Kia Motors to launch the Seltos at the end of August
Kia Motors unveils the Seltos which was codenamed as the SP
It will most likely be launched towards the end of August 2019
The Seltos will be powered with a 1.4-litre TGDI petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel unit.
Kia unveils the Seltos globally in India ahead of its official launch. It is estimated that Kia Motors will most likely schedule the launch of the Seltos during the end of August 2019. With this launch, it will mark the first step of Kia Motors in the Indian automotive market.
According to Kia Motors, the seltos measures 4.3 metres in length, it is wide by 1.8 metres and it is tall by 1.62 meters. In addition to this, it gets a wheelbase of 2.61 meters.
Upfront the most catchy design highlight is indeed Kia’s signature Tiger Nose Grille which gives it a mean look. The shoulder line gives the Seltos a muscular as well. On the other hand, the sletos GT-Line and TechLine will be offered with a much sportier look. The Seltos measures in at (LXBXH) 4.3-metersX1.8-metersX1.62-meters. The wheelbase standard at 2.61-meters which put its third among its rivals.
Design highlights of the Seltos include the tiger nose grille, shoulder line, lighting package as well as the design of the alloy wheels. There are two design schemes- GT-Line and the Tech Line, with the former being a sporty outlook for the Seltos while the latter is a conventional setup aimed at family buyers.
The cabin of the Seltos will come in a theme of beige and brown and it will also feature gills all around. The centre of the dashboard will hold the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that will get up to 37 connectivity features, for utmost comfort it will get automatic climate control, Bose sound system, sound mood lighting and it will also feature a heads-up display.
The safety kit includes modern safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability management, traction control, blind spot monitoring system, parking sensors on the front as well as on the rear and a surround view monitor.
Under the hood of the Seltos will be a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel unit which will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as common. The petrol mill will get an additional CVT unit as an option whereas the diesel unit will get an automatic option as well. On the other hand, the 1.4-litre TGDi petrol mill will only be coupled with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission only.
With this, once Kia Motors launches the Seltos in the Indian market it will take on its rivals such as the upcoming MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Renault Duster and the Tata Harrier. We at MyNewCar estimate Kia Motors will offer the Seltos at a price tag ranging from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India).
Renault unveils the Triber
Renault finally unveils the Triber globally
It is a sub-four meter, seven-seater vehicle
Under the hood will be a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol unit which will be coupled to a five-speed manual or AMT unit.
From some months, Renault has been teasing us with the sketches of the Triber. It was also spotted numerous times conducting test runs. With this, now Renault has finally taken off the covers over the Triber and it has unveiled it globally in the nation.
Renault has developed the Triber on modified CMF-A platform and this is a sub-four meter seven-seater MPV which is super spacious and it comes loaded with a lot of modern technology. With the Triber, Renault hopes to get back the hold in the Indian market once again.
On the outside, the Triber sports muscular lines on the hood which gives it a beefed-up look. Coming towards the side profile, it holds a set of sporty roof rails and the overall design seems to take inspiration from the Captur.
Upfront, the Triber is equipped with wraparound projector headlamp units and in between is a chrome grille. In place of the fog lamp unit, we see that the LED DRL’s have been placed and we also see faux scuff plate to give it a muscular look. On the inside, Renault will be featuring the Triber with a 7.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it will also get Push Button Start function as well.
For additional storage, the Triber gets a dual glove box compartment and it also boasts of a compartment under the centre armrest which is also cooled.
The safety kit includes safety features such as four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, driver and passenger seat belt warning system and high-speed alert system.
Under the hood of the Triber will be 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that generates 71 bhp of power and 96Nm of twist. Renault will be offering this 1.0-litre pot with a five-speed manual gearbox and an optional five-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) unit.
Once launched the Renault Triber will take on its rivals such as the Ford Freestyle, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Datsun Go+ and the Hyundai Grand i10. We expect Renault to offer the Triber in a price bracket ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India).
MG to launch the Hector on the 27th of June
MG Motors is gearing up to launch the Hector on the 27th of June 2019
This will be the first product to be launched from MG’s stable and it will host a lot of first in segment features
It will be powered with a 2.0 diesel. 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5 litres Petrol-48V Mild Hybrid system.
MG Motors is finally gearing up to launch the most anticipated Hector in the Indian market. The launch date has been scheduled for the 27th of June 2019 and with this, it will mark the entry of MG Motors in the Indian automotive market. The booking has already been kick-started from the 4th of June 2019 and this can also be done online through MyNewcar.in.
In terms of features and modern technology, Hector is one SUV that will give all it’s rivals a run for their money. These features include a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (Portrait-oriented) and it will also host a number of connectivity options as well. It also gets a panoramic sunroof whereas the higher models will be loaded with six airbags.
Under the hood of the Hector will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 143 bhp of power and it will also come 48V mild hybrid version with a 1.5-litre petrol mill. According to MG Motors, the mild hybrid system gives out 12% better fuel efficiency and also gives out 20Nm additional torque.
Both these petrol mills will be mated with a six-speed manual gearbox and it will also get an option of a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission as well. In addition to this, it only gets one 2.0 litre diesel engine option which produces 170 bhp of power and it will only be coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox.
According to some media reports, we get to know that many of the customers pre-booking the Hector are going for the Mild hybrid model. Right after this, the second preference is towards the diesel engine models. Once launched the Hector will take over its rivals such as the Harrier, Seltos, Compass, Creta and the XUV 500.
