Toyota officially announces that they will be opening the bookings for the Yaris starting from the month of April of this year 2018. Toyota will be manufacturing the Yaris its plant in the state of Karnataka. Which means that this model will be produced with heavy localisation hence we expect competitive prices.Toyota hasn't officially said anything about the prices but we expect it to be priced between the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.
Once launched, the Toyota Yaris will compete head on with the Maruti-Suzuki Ciaz, New Hyundai Verna and the Honda City in the Indian market. There are rumours that the deliveries of the Yaris will commence after the mid of 2018.
Toyota will offering the Yaris with a touchscreen infotainment unit control, automatic climate control, roof mounted AC vents and a push button to start the car. Speaking about safety safety features it gets six airbags, ABS with EBD and parking sensors at the front end also.
Powering the Yaris is a 1.5 litre four cylinder petrol engine which produces 106 bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque. As of now Toyota will only introduce a petrol engine and will slowly get in the diesel mill after sometime. The petrol mill will be coupled with a six speed manual gearbox and will also get an CVT automatic transmission as an option.
