At the ongoing 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen reveal its new concept car. This is an electric powered I D Vizzion concept car and this luxury sedan will be the replacement for the discontinued Volkswagen Phaeton.
This is the fourth model from Volkswagen’s I D production units. The I D Vizzion will come with a four-wheel drive system and this sedan will be placed at the Top of Volkswagen fleet of cars.
The I D Vizzion boosts of limousine like exterior dimensions as well as high end interior finish. Under the hood, well there is trunk I guess, but this luxury sedan has a 306 horsepower producing electric motor and it is powered with the help of the 111kWh lithium-ion battery. On a full charge the I D Vizzion can be driven upto a range of 665km.
Speaking about performance numbers, Volkswagen carried out some computer simulations and the its showed that this concept car can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 6.3 seconds. Where as the top speed of this luxury sedan is limited upto 180kph.
On the other hand Volkswagen has equipped the I D Vizzion with a matrix LED headlamps connected with the logo giving it a futuristic look. Other amazing features include suicide doors, seating for four occupants and storage space at the front.A "suicide door" is the slang term for an automobile door hinged at its rear rather than the front. Such doors were originally used on horse-drawn carriages.
Speaking about technology, Volkswagen has equipped this car with many cameras on the front rear and each sides, LIDAR laser scanners, ultrasound sensors and radar sensors. Thus it will need minimum Human interference to drive it.
The I D Vizzion joins its fleet which includes the I D Crozz, I D Buzz and the I D hatchback. Volkswagen will be putting these concept cars into production by the year 2025. Stay tuned to MyNewCar for latest updates from the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
