There’s an old saying – ‘a family that eats together, stays together’. We would say family that drives together stays together!
India has proved to be a big market for the 5+ seater cars let it be SUVs’ or MUVs’. It’s been 2 years since the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been on roads and has been fairly successful in this segment. Here enters a serious competitor , The Honda Mobilio.
In this blog we place the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga against the brio based MPV , Honda Mobilio.
Looks, looks and looks.
While the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga looks pretty good from the front , the rear seems a little “not in flow”. The design has lesser lines and has a very simple profile which is more MPV or van like.
The Honda Mobilio on the other hand have lots of lines, creases and cuts the unique shoulder line which increases the cross section of the middle window (after the B pillar) giving a better feel of space from the inside. The front though is the same as the brio or the amaze. A minus point there. The rear is really well designed and impressive. It’s got that sporty lines and tail lamps across the boot lid too unlike the Ertiga which has tail lamps just on the rear of D pillar.
The Honda Mobilio has more ground clearance than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and chances of its bottom hitting the bumps when fully loaded is almost nil. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has offers a better headroom at 82mm.
If you are looking for a plain elegant tall 5 seater & if looks is all that matters to you, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga should be in your consideration set. Or if you are looking for a more classy car with extra lines & not that tall, Honda Mobilio is definitely you would not wanna miss considering!
