Tata Zica is company’s new offering in the lucrative hatchback segment, which till now is led by Maruti and Hyundai. Tata Motors has already started taking things more seriously and right from designing to marketing, the company is trying its level best to make Zica, a successful product. Recently, the company even roped in Lionel Messi, one of the most valuable soccer players in the world, as their global brand ambassador. Zica, as we know will be placed below Bolt with an expected price in the range of Rs 3 to 5 lac. With the specifications and details already out, let’s quickly check out what the hatch offers.
The design of Zica is a collaborative effort from the designers across company’s studio in Pune, UK and Italy. In a first glance, the car looks attractive with its sharp design character, courtesy to Tata’s DesignNext philosophy. Other DesignNext incorporation includes humanity line, slingshot line and Diamond DLO (Day Light Opening). The front profile boasts piano black mirror finish hexagonal grille, three-dimensional headlamps with smoked lens and sporty black bezel. The side features a subtle crease and shoulder line which adds more to its styling quotient. Rear gets wrap around type tail lamp cluster and a small roof mounted spoiler.
Interior Space and Comfort
The cabin offers ample amount of space which is rarely seen in the Tata cars. But as we said earlier, the automaker is working on every aspect of the car and its attention to details is what we liked so much. The top-end model Zica will feature a new entertainment unit powered by Harman which gets Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity. It also gets a large display which comes in handy while parking with rear parking sensor. The customers will also get two new applications- Navigation app and the Juke-Car app. The Navigation app is pretty standard which provides turn-by-turn navigation but what we liked is the Juke App. The Juke-Car app is developed by Harman which helps in sharing your entire music playlist to the infotainment system.
Engine and Driving Modes
Tata Zica will be offered in both the fuel trims. The petrol model houses a 1.2-liter, Revotron, 3-cylinder MPFi engine which gives an output of 85PS and peak torque of 114Nm. The diesel on the other hand, gets a 1.05-lite, Revotorq, 3-cylinder engine which delivers power of 70PS and torque of 140 Nm. The car will also come with segment first Multi-Drive modes – City and ECO modes, same as that of Bolt and Zest.
The vehicle offers dual front airbags along with ABS, EBD and CSC (Corner Stability Control). Also these features are of top-end model and variant wise details will be revealed once the car gets launched.
