Tata Motors has officially launched Tiago AMT for the XT trim. This trim is known as Tiago XTA and is priced at Rs 4.79 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi.
Tata Motors had launched the AMT version for Tiago in March 2017 for the top-end XZ trim. Tiago XTA has been official updated on TATA’s official page including all prices. Now that Tata has launched Tiago AMT for the XT trim, its cost is less than Rs 46,500 than the XZA trim. This move will help increase the sales of this Tiago and will help target the customers who want to buy automatic cars at a budgeted rate.
The Tiago XTA is loaded with most of the features from the XZA variant. These features include steering mounted phone and audio controls, auto down window on driver's side, cooled glove box, boot lamp, LED turn signal on ORVM, fog lamps, rear wiper, washer and defogger. But looking into the safety features it only gets dual airbags and it lacks in features like alloy wheels, ABS with EBD and corner stability control.
Under the hood of the Tiago XTA is an 1,199cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83 BHP of power at 6,000 rpm and a max torque of 114 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The engine is powerful in its class and it won't lack in power in highway rides. This engine is mated with a 5-speed AMT gearbox which also comes with a manual shift mode. Tata has used a function which helps the car to crawl once the brake pedal is released. Along with this feature, Tiago AMT XTA comes with 2 driving modes- Sport and City. These features will help its users maneuver safely and easily in city and it won't increase fatigue in bumper to bumper traffic.
The Tata Tiago AMT competes head on with the Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT which costs between Rs. 4.49 - 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
