Skoda will be launching the new Rapid Monte Carlo Edition in India, and it is expected to launch in the mid of August. Skoda has started the booking of the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition. The czech manufacturer has revealed the launch date but is declared that it will start the deliveries from September.
Skoda has launched the Monte Carlo Edition to pay homage to the company’s racing heritage. Skoda has an amazing racing history which also consists of many racing legends, memorable victories, podium finishes and some mind blowing racing machines. Skoda claims that this rich motor racing has helped transform the company in a form of the Monte Carlo Family.
The India-spec Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo will be different than the global spec edition. The paint scheme will be unchanged but there will be changes in the car's features and equipment.
The Rapid Monte Carlo Edition will be painted in the red exterior paint with contrasting black details. This will include the black grille, bumper vents, ORVMs, window trim, roof, lip spoiler and rear diffuser. Along with all these cosmetic touch ups, the new edition Rapid will come with smoked headlights, smoked fog lamps, and dual tone alloy wheels.
As we enter the cabin of the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition, one can see that the black theme is carried in the inside. The cabin gets black leather with red and white inserts, along with this the stitching done also matches with the colour theme. The air condition vents get a gloss black finish and it also gets aluminum pedals like the ones used in the Octavia VRS.
The features which Skoda will be providing in the Monte Carlo Edition for the Rapid are climate control with rear vents,a touchscreen infotainment system, electric mirrors, ABS and airbags.
Mechanically the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition will be same as the previous model Rapid. Under the hood of this sedan are a 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines which mated with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. But is Skoda is expected to offer a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG on the petrol and diesel variants respectively.
