Why you Must Experience Skoda Kamiq at least once in your Lifetime
The Czech automobile car maker, Skoda is known for its technology and quality. Volkswagen group being the majority shareholder of Skoda made some huge changes when it acquired the group.
The 2018 Skoda vision x, now renamed as kamiq is expected to be launched by the year 2020. The car is said to be based on Volkswagen's MQB A0 platform on which the Volkswagen t-cross is based. the car will be the most shot SUV in its class.
The compact SUV is expected to have a starting cost of rs.10 lakhs.
Skoda Kamiq Appearance:
The kamiq will have dimensions of 4241mm x 1793mm x 1531mm as length breadth and height respectively. looking at this dimension, the kamiq makes as the shortest SUV in its class.
The compact SUV will be a 5 seater with the largest wheelbase in the segment. The boot space is said to be roughly around 400 litres and because of the 60:40 split can be extended to 1395 litres.
The optional variant will offer foldable passenger seat as well making the boot space even bigger.
The appearance of the car is somewhat similar to Skoda's previous launches kakaroq and kodiaq. The car will have Skoda's signature grille and will have a dual purpose led drls that also function as turn indicators.
The led headlamps are placed below the led drls. The new kamiq is expected to get 17-inch alloy wheels. The car will feature a c shape tail lamp and sleek tailgate.
Interior wise the 2020 kamiq will look like Skoda scala which was unveiled last year. Based on the design it is expected to have 9.2-inch floating touchscreen (8 inches in India) unit and a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster.
The overall look and feel of the car are modern and sophisticated.
Skoda Kamiq Features:
The kamiq comes loaded with features. The high-end safety features will include front and lane assist as standard. It will also include emergency brake and pedestrian protection predict. It will also have optional adaptive cruise control.
The general safety features like 9 airbags, blindspot detection system, rear parking camera with sensors, rear traffic alert and handsfree parking, ABS with EBD, traction control and ESP. even if the feature list is long only the launch will tell how many of these features will be available for the Indian market.
Skoda Kamiq Engine:
The kamiq will have a 1 litre and 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. A CNG fuel option is also available with the 1 litre to turbocharge engine that produces 90PS of power and 160Nm of torque.
The 1 litre will produce 95PS/175Nm and 115PS/200Nm for the 2 variants and 1.5 litre will produce 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque.
The 1.6-litre diesel engine will produce 115PS/250Nm.only litre engine is expected to be launched in India cng engine of this car is also roumoured to be introduced in indian market.
Skoda Kamiq Rivals:
When launched in , the kamiq will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia SP2i concept-based SUV, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming T-Cross SUV.
The skoda kamiq is expected to be launched in india by 2020 but the versions and engines to be launched in india are still in the roumoured stage. Skoda will make an official announcement about the specs pretty soon and we hope it does not differ too much from the international model.
