The Reason Why Everyone Love Toyota Glanza?
India is the 5th largest automobile industry in the world. In such a case for a market with such large customer quantities, bringing a new model is rather necessary.
With the growing new tech and features, a lot of new variations and modifications are expected in the models already present in the market. The entire success of a new car model is usually based on the newer tech they offer.
Creating a car that is completely different from what is available in the market can be very difficult. It takes years and an insane amount of research to produce something unique. So just like all the other brands out there, Toyota has drawn inspiration from one of the top companies in India and introduced a car that is similar to the ever-so-popular Baleno.
the new car from Toyota is ready to be launched in India this 6th of June. The Toyota glanza can be defined as the exact clone of Maruti Baleno with some minor tweaks and a new badge. After the enormous success of Maruti Baleno, Toyota came up with bringing the same car as its new model with some minor changes. The idea behind that could be to attract the customers for Baleno with a bait of Toyota's after sale service.
About the Toyota Glanza:
Exterior wise, The car will look exactly like the Baleno. The car will receive Toyota's signature front grille, new head and tail lamp and the popular Toyota badge.
Baleno being under the nexa brand, it already comes under the luxury vehicle category. So interior wise, the Baleno is already top notch. The same will be even copied by Toyota for its glanza with almost similar interiors. The quality may differ but we will know that once the car is launched.
What is interesting is to see is how this car does in the market which is already dominated by the original version with the same engine. Yes, the new glanza will get the same engine as that of Baleno which is actually sourced from Maruti Suzuki. Engine wise, the glanza will be powered by Baleno's 1.2-litre petrol engine that produced 83bhp power and 113nm of torque.
The car will be available in 2 variants for now (G & V) with 5-speed MT or CVT option with mileage ranging from 21-23kmpl. The two variants are expected to be based on that of alpha and zeta variant of Baleno. For now, Toyota has not announced anything about a diesel engine.
The feature list has not changed much as well. The glanza will get Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors and rear parking sensors as standard.
And also premium features like alloy wheels, projector headlamps, start/stop button with a smart key and keyless entry, electrically foldable ORVMs and a 7-inch infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. and rear parking camera is also included in the list.
The new glanza will start at Rs. 7.27 lakhs. The price for glanza will be on a more premium side than that of Baleno.
Overall the car is an exact copy of that of Baleno. So why does a reputed brand like Toyota goes as far as to pull an exact copy of one of the most popular car and with even a higher price range?
There is a valid reason for that as well. Toyota and Maruti Suzuki are one of the top competitors in the Indian automobile industry. With both well known for quality and services, both these brands dominate the Indian automotive market.
The USP behind Toyota to rebrand the Baleno as glanza is the premium after sale services and warranties. The car may be costlier than Baleno but the aftersale service provided by glanza can be considered the best in the segment. Toyota will provide a 3 year/100000 km warranty for its glanza whereas, Maruti Suzuki only provides 2 year/45000 km of warranty for its Baleno.
Other than that Toyota will also offer premium after sale services like Smartphone App, extended warranties, Toyota Express Service, exclusive Toyota accessories, Toyota QService, body & paint warranty, Toyota Financial Services and Roadside Assistance as well. The offers can only be availed at the Toyota service station.
But compared to the 3000 plus service stations Maruti Suzuki has with its reach to even the most rural area in the country, Toyota glanza will be most popular in the urban areas. With such conditions, there is still a good response for new glanza. Only the launch will tell if the strategy of providing a better service will actually work in the favour of glanza.
Toyota Glanza Rivals:
Toyota glanza will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.
