BMW has launched its 7th generation 5 series in India at Rs 49.90 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) which is based on the Modular Oberklasse Platform. This luxury sedan is offered with one petrol and 3 diesel variants which are : 530i Sport Line, 520d Sport Line, 520d Luxury Line and the 530d M Sport.
The new gen 5-series is available in Alpine White (non-metallic), Black Sapphire (metallic), Cashmere Silver (metallic) and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect (metallic) colours.

Aesthetic wise, the new 5-series features new active front kidney grilles, elongated headlamps with LED headlights, LED DRL’s and LED tail lights. It also gets air curtains in the front apron and air breathers in the wheel arches just like the BMW 7 series.
The adaptive LED from BMW is an option, just like the Selective Beam anti-dazzle high beam.

Looking at the interiors, the 5-series gets a 10.25 inch multi-functional infotainment system with BMW Gesture Control, wireless mobile charging, electrically adjustable and multi-function comfort seats for driver and front passenger and it also gets innovative Harman Kardon Surround System which powers 16 active speakers, producing brilliant quality music. The 5-series also comes equipped with 4 zone automatic air conditioning system which means one can set separate temperature for driver, front passenger and left & right rear passengers.

The safety features in the BMW 5 series are active front seat headrests, front and side airbags for driver and front passenger as well as head airbags front and rear, anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist and Dynamic Braking lights, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), electric parking brake with auto hold function, Electronic vehicle immobiliser, ISOFIX child seat mounting, runflat indicator, runflat tyres with reinforced side walls and Crash sensor.
