In the recent years we have seen a considerable rise in the demands of Compact SUV’s in the Indian market. It is the perfect car segment for the Indian consumer to enjoy the perks of an SUV and also need not worry of the size and price tag. In these couple of months, many auto manufacturers have updated their cars in the compact SUV segment with the introduction of the Nexon AMT and the new Vitara Brezza. Not falling behind in this race, Ford has also updated its lineup with the introduction of two new trims, the EcoSport S and Eco Sport Signature Edition.
These are the new top variants for the Ford EcoSport in India. Both the new trims will be available with the option for petrol and diesel mills. Ford has launched the EcoSport S at a starting price of Rs 11.37 lakh for the petrol variant and the diesel variant is priced at Rs 11.37 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the Ford EcoSport Signature Edition is launched at a starting price of Rs 10.40 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol mill and Rs 10.99 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel mill.
Looking towards the exterior design of the Ford EcoSport S and the Signature edition is similar to the other variants of the EcoSport. But, these two new trims boost of power slide sunroof, Ford calls this as the Fun Roof. Coming towards the front fascia, these new variants gets HID headlamp unit and blacked out grille which gives it a sporty look. In addition to this, the front fog lamps, front bumpers (lower end) and the roof rails are also blacked out. Ford is offering seven colour options for the customers to choose form. This compact SUV now runs on 17-inch alloy wheels. While the EcoSport Signature Edition gets many more updates such as, chrome surrounds on the front grille, rear spoiler, diamond cut alloy wheels and graphics near the fog lamp unit.
Inside, Ford has offered the EcoSport S and the Signature Edition with seats and instrument panels with orange accents on it. In addition to this, these trims are equipped with tyre pressure monitoring system, 8-inch infotainment system which now comes with Ford SYNC3 connectivity and the instrument panel now gets a bigger 4.2 inch digital cluster. On the other hand, the Signature Edition gets blue accents on the seats, instrument panel and the centre console.
Along with the launch of these tiw new top spec trims, Ford has also debuted its new 1.0 litre turbocharged, three cylinder petrol engine. This engine generates 123 bhp of power and 170Nm of twist and it is mated with a six speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the diesel mill is the same 1.5 litre TDCi motor which generates 99bhp of power. Engines coupled with the six speed automatic transmission gets paddle shifters, hill launch assist and cruise control. That is not all about the mechanics, the new EcoSport Signature Edition gets the 1.5 litre TiVCT petrol along with 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine as option.
