With a whole new front fascia, new addition exterior colour, interior tweaks and many more modern features Ford launches the new Ecosport in India. The prices for the new EcoSport start from Rs 7.31 lakh and it goes up to Rs 10.67 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new facelift of the EcoSport will be powered by an optional new petrol and diesel engine. Ford had opened the booking for this Compact SUV from the 5th of November 2017 across all dealership in India. 

Comparing the facelift model with the previous models, one can notice the new large grille which is based on Ford's Design language and Ford’s logo placed majestically at the centre. The headlight units get new projector lights with LED DRL. In addition to this, the Eco sport gets a new shade of blue and new 17-inch alloy wheel which gives it more muscular looks. There are no changes at the rear but due to the new 17-inch alloy wheels, the car gets a new look. 

While the interiors of the new Ecosport have also been tweaked. It is now equipped with a new touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Ford’s SYNC3 support system and a  redesigned console with automatic climate control. In addition, this compact SUV also get a new upholstery dual USB ports, paddle shifts and 3 spoke steering wheel with mounted audio controls. 

Like always Ford hasn't compromised on safety and it offers front dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard in all the variants. The petrol automatic variants get hill start assist, ESC and traction control, while the top model gets additional Isofix child-seat mounts for the rear seats and side and curtain airbags. 

Powering the Ford New EcoSport is a brand new 1.5 litre petrol engine which is based on  Ford’s Dragon series of engines. This mill is a 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which is capable of producing 123BHP of power and 150Nm of torque and it is coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic gearbox. While the diesel mill is 1.5 litre, 4 -cylinder which produces 98bhp of power and 205 Nm of torque and it is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The petrol-manual gives a fuel economy of 17km/l, the petrol-automatic gives 14.8km/l and the diesel engine is capable of giving an average of 23km/l

If we compare the prices of the facelift EcoSport with the older version we can see that there is an increase of price from 65% to 85%.

In the Indian market, the new Ford EcoSport will be competing with the Tata Nexon and Vitara Brezza in the compact SUV segment.
