Seeing the rising competition from Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Tata Zest & Hyundai Xcent, Honda, in order to revive the sales of its sub-4-meter sedan, has finally launched the Amaze facelift at Rs 5.29 lac. The automaker has also introduced the CVT gearbox which is a segment first feature in the compact sedan segment. The exterior profile now features revised front profile, new chrome grille with an upright ‘Honda’ logo at the centre, revamped front bumper, and redesigned tail lamps. The company also introduced a new colour, Bluish Titanium Metallic.
The interior of the new Amaze features an all-new dashboard which looks similar to that of Honda BR-V and 2016 Honda Mobilio. The centre console is new and larger, and is complemented by piano black trims. The HVAC gets new controls and rectangular vents instead of circular. The instrument cluster is replaced with a single-pod that has a Honda Jazz-inspired fuel gauge. Airbags are available in all variants, as option in lower variants and as standard in higher trims.
The top variants of the Amaze gets a touchscreen-equipped music system and a new automatic climate control system, while the lower models receive a new 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The Honda Connect feature is now available on the Amaze, on the top-end version.
Mechanically, the car remains unchanged and will keep on carrying 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine.
