Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelift version of Alto 800 at Rs 2.49 lac (Ex-showroom, Delhi) for the STD variant. Seeing the rising competition in the entry level segment from the likes of Renault Kwid and upcoming Datsun redi-GO, the automaker lowered the prices of Alto 800 and it now becomes more affordable than the Kwid which starts at Rs 2.62 lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
The facelifted model features cosmetic changes which includes new headlamp cluster, redesigned front grille and updated bumper. Inside the cabin, changes include new seat fabrics and extra storage spaces in door panels. The top variant also features integrated headrests for the rear seats, a rear spoiler, remote locking and child-safety locks on the rear doors. A driver-side airbag is optional across all variants, but ABS is still not offered.
Under the hood, the story remains the same and the car is powered by the 796cc three-cylinder petrol engine which is coupled to five-speed manual gearbox. However, the engine remains the same, the fuel fuel-efficiency is increased by 9 % and now stands at 24.7kmpl compared to previous 22.7kmpl.
