Almost 2 years ago, Maruti Suzuki launched Vitara Brezza with a diesel engine in March 2016. Soon after the launch, Brezza achieved a distinctive feat in the Indian automobile industry, by being the fastest 3-lakh car sales mark in the SUV segment in just 28 months. In May 2018, Maruti launched the AMT feature in Vitara Brezza, in-line with the competition in the segment. Now, speculations are ripe for the launch of Vitara Brezza Petrol variant as well. This launch would decrease the price of Brezza and help it gain higher market share in the SUV segment being the cheapest SUV in petrol variant. Currently, top of the line variant of Brezza diesel costs around 10.52 lakhs (exshowroom Delhi) while the base variant is priced at 7.23 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The petrol version of Vitara Brezza is expected in the range of 6.5L -7.5L . The petrol variant of the Brezza is expected to give a mileage of 11-12 km/l and on the highway, its expected around 17 km/l.
According to a new report, Vitara Brezza petrol will get the same 1.5 L petrol engine that would be launched with the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The 1.5 L engine will come with an SHVS hybrid engine developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan. Currently, Brezza comes with a 1.3L DDiS 200 diesel engine option. Maruti Suzuki has given no official confirmation with regards to the launch date of Vitara Brezza Petrol. However, it is speculated to be launched in India by the end of 2018 or early 2019.
