Maruti-Suzuki has added a new variant to the Ciaz lineup. This new variant is the Ciaz S and is available in a petrol and diesel mill. The petrol mill gets 1.4litre engine and it is priced at Rs 9.39 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi. While the diesel mill gets Diesel Smart Hybrid engine and it will cost you Rs. 11.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Maruti suzuki is offering the S variant with all features from the ‘Top-end’ Alpha trim. In addition to this it also get all round body kit which includes front and rear bumper extensions, side skirts and a boot lid spoiler. Coming to the tyres Ciaz S runs on 16-inch alloy wheels shod with 195/55 R16 tyres which will help better cruising on the highway and will also help in maneuvering in the city traffic.
Maruti-suzuki Ciaz S is 15 mm longer in length as compared to the other variants, which makes it more spacious and the cabin is very roomy. This will help in increasing comfort and lower fatigue. The Ciaz S is 4,505 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, 1,485 mm in height and it also has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. This makes the Ciaz S more spacious and comfortable than its rivals
Maruti Suzuki is offering the Ciaz S in all existing 7 colour options- Pearl Snow White, Metallic Silky Silver, Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Metallic Glistening Gray, NEXA Blue and Pearl Sangria Red.
As we look into the interiors of this sedan we will first notice the all-black interiors instead of the dual-tone setup which is offered in the other trims. Black leather seats are standard but it goes along with the interior giving it a sportier look. We also notice some minor changes in the multi-functional display placed between the speedometer and tachometer. The Ciaz S diesel variants gets additional features like engine start/stop, brake energy regeneration, torque assist and gear shift indicator which are not available in the petrol variant
Looking under the hood of the Ciaz S variant is an 1,373cc petrol engine which produces 91bhp of power at 6000 rpm and a torque of 130Nm at 4000 rpm. Whereas the Diesel Smart Hybrid version is powered by an 1,248cc diesel engine which produces 89bhp of power at 4000 rpm and a torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. Both of petrol and diesel engines generate enough power and which will be plus point in long rides and highway rides, whereas the hybrid engine is also powerful and very economical. It will help low consumption of fuel in city rides and in traffic.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India competes head on with the Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and the new Hyundai Verna which will be launched 22nd of August 2017.
