To mark the 70th anniversary of India’s Independence Mercedes-Benz has done something special. The German manufacturer has launched the ‘Celebration Edition” for the GLC lineup. This edition is an exclusive product and it will be only available in limited numbers.
The Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India Roland Folger launched the GLC 'Celebration Edition'. This special edition will be available across all Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
With this new edition, Mercedes-Benz has also added another paint option - 'Designo Hyacinth Red' in the GLC line-up. The new edition also gets a chrome trim on the front bumper, faux air vents and tail gate. It will also be equipped with gloss black ORVM housings and LED logo projectors on exit lamps as standard. On the interiors the special edition gets sports pedals which are of stainless steel finish and Garmin navigation system.
Mechanically there won't be any changes in the GLC 220d and GLC 300. The SUV is powered by a 1,991cc, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine which produces 241 BHP of power @ 5,500 rpm and max torque 370 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. While the diesel unit is a 2,143cc engine which produces 168 BHP of power @ 3,000-4,200 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 1,400 - 2,800 rpm. Both the petrol and diesel engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The GLC 220 d 'Celebration Edition' is priced at Rs50.86 lakh and the GLC 300 'Celebration Edition' is priced at Rs 51.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India).
