Mitsubishi has officially launched the 2018 Outlander SUV in the Indian market at Rs 31.95 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) after six years from its previous launch. Mitsubishi will be importing the SUV on the Indian soil via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.
The Outlander is available only in a single variant, which is fully loaded and it also consists of the seven seater configuration. Mitsubishi has equipped this SUV with automatic headlights, automatic wipers, keyless go, and an electric sunroof. Aesthetically it gets the same round boxy shape and at the front it also gets the twin slat grille. In addition to this, it gets LED Daytime Running Lights, chrome inserts on the body and it runs on 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/70 R16 tyres.
Whereas inside, it comes with electric parking brakes, paddle shifters, leather seats, dual zone climate control and a 6.1 inch touchscreen infotainment unit which is connected to the 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system. The interiors gets all leather finish with black and beige interior scheme and the driver's seat is electrically adjustable. Where's as the mid row is reclined adjustable, adding to more comfort. In terms of the safety package, the Mitsubishi Outlander gets seven airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist and active stability control.
Under the hood of the 2018 Outlander is the 2.4 litre, naturally aspirated, four cylinder petrol mill. This engine is coupled with a six step CVT automatic gearbox and together it generates 165 bhp of power and 222 Nm of twist. All of this power and torque generated is sent to all the four wheels of this SUV via the AWD system.
Mitsubishi also plans to get the Hybrid Outlander in the Indian market in the coming years. Currently, the 2018 Outlander competes head on with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Honda CR-V.
