This year at the 2018 Auto Expo, Honda had showcased the New CR-V and with this it kept us eagerly waiting for it to hit the Indian roads. Finally, Honda has launched the new and updated CR-V at a starting price of Rs 28.15 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). This is the fifth generation of the CR-V and it will be available in both the petrol and diesel models with 2WD and 4WD options.
Aesthetically, the fifth generation CR-V is bigger in comparison to its predecessor which was launched in the Indian market. Although its grown in size, the new CR-V still retains some design elements from the previous model. Honda has offered this SUV now with muscular and ripped look that surely is an eye catcher in its segment.
Although on the outside it gets a rough look, on the inside it is loaded with premium features and comfortable seats. The new CR-V comes equipped with panoramic sunroof, 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment unit which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multifunctional steering wheel, electric parking brake and push button start. For utmost comfort, Honda has provided this SUV with dual zone climate control, third row AC vents, individual AC vent controls, cruise control, leather upholstery and eight way adjustable driver's seat.
Honda has offered the fifth generation CR-V with both the petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered with a 2.0 litre four cylinder unit that churns out 152 bhp of power and 189Nm of twist. This petrol engine is coupled with a CVT unit. On the other hand, the diesel version is powered with a 1.6 litre, four cylinder unit that produces 118bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. This diesel engine is coupled with a nine speed automatic gearbox and it gets paddle shifters. The diesel version only gets the option of a 4WD setup while the petrol version misses out on it.
Honda is offering the CR-V in both the five seater and seven seater option, with 2WD and 4WD options. The petrol version 2WD variant will get only the five seater version, whereas the diesel 2WD and diesel 4WD will get the seven seater version.The safety kit consists of front dual airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags along with driver attention assist, hill start assist, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, Agile handling assist, Brake assist, and rear parking sensors and camera.
