To welcome the festive season rush, Maruti Suzuki has launched a new special edition Swift variant based on the Lxi/Ldi variants. The special edition variant is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is similar to the pricing of the existing Lxi/Ldi variants.
What you’re getting over the base variant is a couple of nice additions to the rather bland base variant of the hatchback. A single-din Bluetooth stereo with two speakers and black painted wheel caps will be added and it comes with front power windows, ABS, dual front airbags and rear parking sensors as standard across the range. Maruti, like every other manufacturer, is aiming to rope in more customers towards the festive season.
The 1.2-liter petrol makes 82 bhp power and 115 Nm torque while the 1.3-liter diesel makes of 74 bhp power and 190 Nm torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or AMT unit depending on trim levels. The swift is currently one of the best-selling hatchbacks in India with a huge cult following since its inception in 2005. The fourth generation of Swift, like its predecessors, struck a chord with the buyers with sales shooting high up the charts since its launch few months back. This special edition variant of the Swift will be a limited run, and to make sure that you atleast see it and compare it with other variants , for any assistance do visit MyNewCar India.
