Tata is celebrating the first anniversary of its subcompact SUV Nexon in India by launching a special edition - Nexon Kraz. The special edition will be available with both the petrol and diesel engine options in two trim variants Kraz and Kraz+.

The Nexon Kraz gets a host of exterior changes, ten changes to be precise. The most obvious change is a dual-tone Tromso Black paint scheme with a silver roof and hints of Neo-Green highlights in the front grille, ORVMs, and the alloy wheels. The car also flaunts a Kraz or Kraz+ badge on its boot lid. The whole green theme is also carried forward into the interiors with green accents around the aircon vents. The black seats also feature contrast green stitching to spruce things up along with Kraz badging on the centre console. The dashboard is also given a Piano Black treatment.

Commenting at the launch, Mr. Mayank Pareek, President – PVBU, Tata Motors, said – "We want to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of our brand Nexon with our customers and what better way than offering them a special striking version- the Nexon KRAZ. To attract customers with active and sporty lifestyle, the Nexon KRAZ has been designed to set a new trend in the segment. Since launch, the Nexon has received a very good response and today is among the top 5 selling compact SUVs. We would like to thank all our customers for their trust in the brand and we will continue to bring exciting products in the market."

The Nexon Kraz is identical to the standard Nexon in terms of mechanicals. The car uses a 110PS Turbocharged engines – 1.5L Revotorq (diesel engine) and 1.2L Revotron (petrol engine) mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. The special edition is not offered with the choice of an AMT transmission. The Kraz is based on the XT trim, which means it misses out on the touchscreen infotainment system but offers a 4-speaker infotainment by Harman, Bluetooth and steering mounted controls, automatic climate controls with rear air vents, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, reverse parking sensors, a multi-utility glovebox and a central console for organized storage.

The Kraz variant slots between the Nexon XM and XT trims with prices starting at INR 7.14 lakhs for the petrol version and INR 8.07 lakhs for the diesel version. It comes as no surprise that the Nexon has been a very successful product with sales numbers pitching it among the top 5 best-selling subcompact SUVs in India.  Stay tuned as the special-edition will be available for booking through MyNewCar India shortly.
