2021 Skoda Kushaq SUV Debut on 18th March with 2 Petrol Engines, 2 Automatic Option - Official Sketch 

Skoda India has announced that it will showcase the Kushaq on the 18th of March in Mumbai. This would be the first time that the production version of the Kushaq would be shown and as we expect it would be similar to the concept first shown at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Kushaq is based on the MQB A0 IN platform which has been developed for India with Indian tastes in mind. The styling is typical Skoda but aggressive and having lots of chrome and big alloy wheels along with cladding, skid plates and functional roof-rails too. The key to that would be high localization levels to the tune of more than 90 percent which would enable it to priced lower than some competitors.

The pricing would give the Kushaq more advantage while the actual launch is still some months away towards the middle of this year or the festive season. The Kushaq has its twin in form of the Volkswagen Taigun and that too is based on the same platform though we expect the Skoda to come earlier. The Kushaq would be only available with petrol engines including a 1.0 TSI petrol and a 1.5 TSI petrol. The 1.0 TSI petrol would form the entry point of the range. The 1.5 TSI would come with a 7-speed DSG while the 1.0 TSI would come with a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter auto.

The SUV would be well equipped with features like a sunroof, climate control, a large touch screen plus connected technology amongst others. In terms of size the Kushaq is around roughly the size between the likes of a Creta and Venue while aiming to find a nice balance between a sub compact SUV and a bigger midsize SUV. It would be spacious all right with a wheelbase of 2651mm and it would be a 5-seater two row SUV of course. The Kushaq would compete with the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Kia Seltos and of course its own brother the Volkswagen Taigun.
