Hyundai introduces a CNG model for the Grand I10
For the first time, Hyundai as introduced a CNG trim for the private buyers.
The CNG model for the Grand i10 has been based on the Magna trim level.
The changes have only been restricted to the introduction of the CNG Kit.
The Korean automotive manufacturer has updated its line up by introducing a CNG model for the Grand i10. This update is specially done to the Magna variant and Hyundai has launched it at a starting price of Rs 6.41 lakh ( Ex-Showroom, Mumbai). With this update, Hyundai for the first time has introduced a factory fitted CNG kit for the private buyers.
Hyundai, on the other hand, hasn't given any other update in terms of technology or feature to the Grand i10 CNG (Magna) trim. Hence the changes have only been limited to the factory fitted CNG Kit.
The features equipped in this model is similar to the one seen on the regular Magna variant, which will include electrically operated ORVM’s, Bluetooth audio system, steering mounted audio control and rear AC vents.
If we pop the hood of the Grand i10 CNG, it continues to power with the same 1.2-litre petrol mill that is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. And this powertrain can generate 81 bhp of power and 110 Nm of twist. But with the CNG switched on it will only be able to produce 65bhp of power and 98 Nm of torque. The safety kit will include standard features such as front dual airbags, ABS with EBD.
With the launch of the Grand i10 CNG trim, it will help Hyundai to boost the sales of its hatchback. It will now give a tough competition to its rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the Renault Kwid. Force Motors working on the Next Generation Gurkha
Force Motors working on new generation model of the Gurkha which will get an update for the Body shell to comply with the crash test norms.
In addition to this, it will also get an update for the powertrain to comply with the upcoming BS-VI norms.
Production for the same will be commenced from the month of December 2019.
For quite some time, Force Motors has been selling the current generation Gurkha in the Indian market. In all these years, this off-roader has received many updates which now includes multiple features such as ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and speed warning system. With the addition of these safety features, it now helps the Gurkha to meet the latest government norms.
Although Force Motors could clear the current safety norms that will take place from the coming of June, it won't qualify for the upcoming crash test norms that will fall into place from the 1st of October 2019. Hence Force Motors is working a next-gen model for the Gurkha which will comply with these rules.
According to some media reports, Force Motors has already commenced with the work for the all-new Gurkha. This new model will replace the current gen model and it will be made available with a new body shell to meet the crash test norms. If we compare the Gurkha with its only arch-rival the Mahindra Thar, we can also expect a lot of creature comfort features to be loaded in.
We have already spotted the next-gen Thar conducting test runs and it is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. It is also expected that the new model Gurkha will go into production from the month of December 2019 and it will so be seen at the Auto Expo 2020.
In accordance with the new body shell, Force will also equip the New Gurkha with an updated 2.2 litre Diesel mill. This oil burner will comply with the BS-IV emission norms that will come into effect from the 1st of April 2019. The diesel mill will be sourced from Mercedes Benz and it will be able to churn out 140 horsepower. With this, Force Motor will most likely discontinue the 2.5-litre powertrain that produces 85 horsepower.
We have already spotted the next-gen Thar conducting test runs and it is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. It is also expected that the new model Gurkha will go into production from the month of December 2019 and it will so be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 alongside the new Thar.

Production of the Hyundai Venue commences
Hyundai Motors commences with the production for the Venue Compact SUV.
Bookings have already kick-started and it will be launched on the 21st of May 2019.
In the last couple of months, there has been a lot of talks going with launch updates of the Hyundai Venue. As of now, the Korean car manufacturer has commenced with the bookings for the Venue. And now, they have also kick-started with the production for the same.
Hyundai has officially rolled out the Venue Compact SUV from its manufacturing setup. This has been done before the official launch which has been scheduled on the 21st of May 2019. On this occasion, Mr SS Kim, the MD and CEO of Hyundai Motors India has commented that “This is a proud moment for us at Hyundai.
On this day 23 years ago, Hyundai entered India with a promise to make cars that will set new benchmarks in the industry. And today we are set to create history again with the Global First – roll out of the Venue, which will usher the future of connected mobility in India”.
According to the media reports, we get to know that Hyundai will be launching the Venue in 13 different variants which are spread across the - E, S, SX and SX (O) trim levels. Under the hood of the Venue three engine options, two petrol mills and one oil burner option. The petrol engines will include the 1.2-litre unit and the 1.0-litre turbocharged unit, whereas the diesel model will be powered with a 1.4-litre unit.
In terms of transmission, the diesel engine will miss out on an automatic option and it will be only available with a six-speed manual gearbox. In addition to this, the 1.2 litres will be just matted with a five-speed manual transfer case. Whereas only the 1.0 turbo petrol engine will be coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
We at MyNewCar expect that Hyundai will launch the Venue at a price tag ranging from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). Once it's launched, it will compete for head-on with its rivals such as the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Tata Nexon. Kia Motors to unveils the SP2i SUV in the month of June
Kia Motors will be unveiling the production model of the SP SUV on the 20th of June 2019.
Trail productions for the same have already begun at Kia’s facility in Andhra Pradesh.
According to some media reports, we at MyNewCar get to know that, Kia Motors will be unveiling its SP SUV in the Indian market on the 20th of June 2019. It is expected that Kia Motors will name the production model of the SP as the ‘Trailster’. As of now, Kia Motors will only reveal this SUV but it is expected to be launched in the coming months.
For quite some time, we have also spotted the test mules of the SP conducting test runs on the Indian roads. According to some spy images, we get to know that this SUV will carry on Kia’s iconic tiger nose grille and it will also get a wide air dam in the front. It is expected that the production model will be equipped with a five spoke 17-inch alloy wheels along with electrically operated ORVM’s.
Kia Motors will most likely power the production model of the SP SUV with both petrol and diesel engine options. Some reports also suggest that it will get two units for the petrol models- a 1.5-litre unit and a 1.4-litre turbocharged unit. On the other hand, the diesel model will come powered with a 1.5-litre oil burner. We are expecting a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox to be matted with the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, whereas the other engine options could be matted with only a manual transfer case.
As of now, the trial production of the SP SUV has been already commenced at Kia Motor’s Ananthapur facility. Hence we expect that Kia will launch this SUV in the coming months and we could expect it to be retailed at a price tag ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). Once launched it will lock its horn with the Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the upcoming MG Hector.
