The South Korean car manufacturer is gearing up to the launch the much-awaited Tucson facelift in the Indian market. The upcoming Tucson facelift made its debut in the nation at the 2020 Auto Expo. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the launch date saw quite a few delays. But now we get to know that, Hyundai will be launching it on the 14 of July 2020. So let’s take a look at what Hyundai will be offering us with the Tucson facelift.
Design and Aesthetics
The overall design and aesthetics of the 2020 Tucson are quite similar to the outgoing model but it does get many new updates. With this, the upcoming facelift gets Hyundai’s signature Cascading Grille, a newly designed LED projector headlight unit and a redesigned front bumper as well, that gives the SUV a refreshed front end. At the rear, both the taillight unit and the rear bumper has been tweaked to complement the overall design.
Interior
With the changes to the exterior, the interiors have been tweaked as well. Stepping into the cabin, the biggest change that you will first notice is the all-black interior theme and a newly designed dashboard with tweaks to the AC vents. It holds a new floating type 8.0 touchscreen infotainment unit that comes compatible with Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car technology. In terms of features, the Tucson facelift will now come equipped with a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats and a wireless smartphone charger.
PowerTrain
Hyundai is bringing in both BS-6 compliant petrol and diesel engines to the 2020 Tucson’s line up. The petrol model will be powered with a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder unit that will be able to churn out 150 bhp of power and 192 Nm of twist. It will be coupled to the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission which was seen on the outgoing model.
On the other hand, the diesel model will be powered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit that will produce 182 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. This oil burner will be matted to a brand new 8-speed torque converter automatic unit. In addition to this, the diesel model will also be offered with an All-Wheel-Drive system for the top trim.
Once launched, the Tucson facelift will be locking its horns with the Jeep Compass, Skoda Karoq, Honda CR-V and the upcoming VW Tiguan in the Indian market. With these cosmetic, features and mechanical upgrades, the price tag will see an increase over the outgoing model.
