Kia Motors among Top 5 Auto Manufacturers in India
This year in the month of August, a Korean auto manufacturer stormed the Indian market with the launch of its sub four meter SUV. Yes, you're right, it's the debut of Kia Motors with the Seltos in India. The Korean auto manufacturer hit the right notes and within October it became top five car manufacturer in the country keeping in mind the market share.
Kia Motors has sold over 12,850units from its launch in August until the month of October.
They have upto 60,000 bookings from which they have dispatched 26,640 units
All of these figures taken in accordance with performance in the festive season of October
Kia Motors has debuted in the nation during a phase where many popular car manufacturers such as Toyota,Honda Motors, etc are struggling with the slowdown. What is even more remarkable that Kia Motors has done all this with only a single product- The Seltos. If we consider official numbers, the Kia Seltos gained a share of 4.52% with the sale of 12,850 units by October itself.
In accordance with the analyst that are keeping a close track of the industry has said that momentum that Kia Motors has gained will continue further. This is because the Korean auto manufacturer has already got in 60,000 bookings out of which they have only dispatched 26,640 units. That is just 44% of the total orders received by the month of October and the numbers are estimated to increase even further.
Kia Motors close rival is MG Motors which has sold 3536 units of the Hector, hence registering a market share of 1.24%
The competition here is very close as MG has also debuted in the Indian market this year.
The market share here gained my MG Motors is higher than Volkswagen, Nissan and Skoda.
In total, there are 14 car manufacturers in the Indian market, in which Maruti Suzuki and Renault have managed to increase their market share in the month of October. Maruti Suzuki here move above by 50 points, but we also have to take into consideration that the Indian manufacturer has products such as the Dzire, newly launched XL6, Swift, Alto, Baleno and S-Presso that have contributed to the growth.
On the other hand, Renault has done a remarkable improvement by marking a increase in market share by 4.04%. About a year ago, Renault had only managed to gain a market share of 2.51%. Contributing here is the sales of the newly launched products such as the Triber and the Kwid Facelift models.
Kia Motors has hit the right notes while entering the Indian market. New models will be launched in the next year. also if compared with MG Motors, they are getting an electric SUV.
