HOW IT BEGAN
Maruti Suzuki entered the Indian car market in 1983 with its first car, the Maruti 800 SS80. It quickly became the leader with not much players all around. It launched models like 800, Alto, Zen, Wagon R few years later. The 10 million mark was reached in March 2011, i.e., 25 years since the launch of its first car, but the next 10 million cars were sold in just around 8.5 years, which truly shows the progress Maruti Suzuki has made to become the undisputed leader in the industry.
Currently Maruti Suzuki has an extensive product portfolio, which includes hatchbacks, sedans, crossovers, MPVs and SUVs.
