This will help the Indian manufacturer preventing a huge blow due to the economic slowdown the industry is facing
The month of October 2019 has been very appealing in terms of sales keeping in mind the economic slow down the automotive industry is facing currently in the Indian market. The Indian car manufacturer managed to sell around 1,53,435 units and if we compare these sales figure with October 2018, they sold around 1,46,766. This year, the month of October saw many festivals such as Dussehra, Navratri and Diwali hence contributing to the increase in sales figures.
The increase in sales volumes surely provides much support as Maruti Suzuki has faced a hard blow owing to the economic slow down in the automotive sector and also due to transition from BS IV to BS VI engine norms that they will be facing next year. With this, Maruti Suzuki managed a growth of 4.5 percent owing to increase in sales by 6669 units when compared with last years figures in the month of October. But in 2018, Diwali had fallen in the month of November and during that period Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 153,539 units overall, which is very similar to the sales figure of October 2019.
Let us have a look at the figures which helped Maruti Suzuki grow last month:

The Indian manufacturer has already announced that they have reduced their target for 2020. This is owing to the transition from BS-IV to the BS-VI emission norms. Adding to this, the diesel engines will be discontinued from next year, and there still isn't any news about the launch of the latest iteration (BS-VI compilable).
