MG Hector Plus 7-Seater & Facelift India Launch - Jan 2021
MG Hector Plus 7-Seater & Facelift India Launch in January 2021 - Latest Updates
MG Motors is readying its new Hector facelift and also the 7-seater version of the Hector Plus. The Hector Plus has been hugely successful and has gotten a good amount of traction with the second-row captain seat layout plus the tan leather interiors. Now MG Motors is preparing to counter new competition in form of the Tata Gravitas and the new Mahindra XUV500 with the new Hector facelift.
Hector Plus 7-seater
The Hector Plus will get a 7-seater version in January while the car-maker will also increase prices of all of its range. However, MG will probably not give the Hector Plus the facelift changes to the standard Hector immediately so as to further differentiate it. It will have a bench style seating for the second row unlike the captain style seats for the 6-seater Hector Plus. It will come with both diesel and petrol engines along with the mild-hybrid version. It might be cheaper than the 6-seater Plus and will expand the Plus range. MG wants to target Innova Crysta buyers who would find the new Innova too expensive and to them, the SUV shape would further make sense.
The Hector facelift will get changes to its styling and interiors while the engine options remain unchanged. The facelift Hector will come with a new grille which is much bigger along with a new design. The DRLs would stay the same along with the lower part of the grille.
Another big change would be its new 18-inch alloys as they would add to the design of the Hector as the current ones are too small. The interior will also get a more luxurious dual-tone look much like the Hector Plus but with minor differences. The Hector facelift will also get the same engine options and will not get a diesel automatic with the current line-up of manual/diesel and petrol/manual/auto to remain. Prices would increase for the Hector facelift also.
Rivals of Hector Plus
The Hector Plus has quite a lot of rivals with the Gravitas and the new XUV500. The Gravitas would be based on the Harrier with a new look from the rear while the XUV500 is an all-new generation altogether. Also coming in would be the 7-seater Creta around the middle of next year as that car would be based on the Creta of course but would have a new look and a new name.
Rivals of Hector Facelift
The Hector would compete with cars like the new Hyundai Creta plus the Kia Seltos plus the Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier to some extent. The Hector is bigger than the Creta and Seltos plus the Compass while the same size as the Harrier.
