MG Motors announces its second product for the Indian market
MG Motors will be launching the eZS electric SUV somewhere around the end of 2019.
This will be the second product after the launch of the Hector.
It will be available with MG Motor’s iSmart Next-Gen technology.
MG Motors has officially announced the details of its second product for the Indian automotive market. This will be an all-electric SUV which will be known as the eZS.
MG Motors will be launching this electric SUV somewhere around the month of December 2019. Last year, MG Motors had announced that they will be entering the Indian market with an SUV and an all-electric SUV.
These have now been confirmed with the official announcement of the launch of the Hector (SUV) and the eZS (electric SUV). The eZS was first unveiled at the 2019 Guangzhou Motor Show which was held in China.
The President and MD of MG Motors India, Rajeev Chaba said on this occasion that, “With a modern design and advanced technology, the MG eZS will herald a new chapter in environment-friendly solutions in India. While the petrol version of the MG ZS has already become a popular choice globally, we are confident that its zero-emissions electric equivalent will bring accessible electric motoring to customers in India upon its launch by the end of this year.”
In addition to this, Mr Rajeev Chaba also added that, when MG Motors will launch the eZS in India, the government will also announce some incentives and subsidies on Electric Vehicles for private use which falls under the FAME II scheme.
As of now, MG Motors has not revealed any details or specification for the upcoming electric SUV. But they have said that the eZS will come with its iSmart Next-Gen technology.
This connectivity technology will first make its debut with the launch of the Hector SUV. during its first unveiling in the Chinese market, it was known that the eZS will be powered with a 150 horsepower electric motor.
On a single charge, this SUV will be able to cover a range of 335 kilometres (NEDC cycle). But for the Indian market, the eZS will be launched in the phased manner and this EV will have a range of 250 kilometres on a single charge.
MG Motors is now gearing up to make its first debut in the Indian market with the launch of the Hector. It is expected that MG Motors will launch the SUV in the month of June this year.
As of now, MG Motors is working in developing its sales and aftersales network with 50 outlets at the time of the launch of the Hector. As MG Motors will launch the eZS, it will be a turning point in the electric vehicle category as there aren't many exciting cars available in that segment.

Tata Altroz production version spied
The final production model of the Altoz has been spotted.
The design of the final production model is similar to the one showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
Tata will launch the Altroz in the month of August 2019.
We all have been excited for the launch of Tata Motor’s next car the Altroz. Its concept model was first unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo and it was known as the 45X concept hatchback. Just after a year from its first unveiling, Tata Motor’s showcased its near about production model at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
As of now, the Indian manufacturer is working on its final production model. The test mule of the Alytroz has also been spotted testing with any camouflage for the first time in India. From the images, we can assume that they have been clicked at Tata Motor’s production facility.
According to the images we can also say that the final production model design is similar to the one which was showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. the only visible change that can be noted is that of the design of the alloy wheels.
The alloy wheels seen of the spy images has a monotone finish and it doesn't seem to have a diamond cut look which was seen in the Geneva Motor Show. Tata Motors is developing the Altroz on the manufacturer’s all new ALFA Platform. In addition to this, the Altoz will also be the first car from Tata to be built on this platform. With the launch of the Atroz, it will be Tata Motors first product to enter into the premium hatchback segment.
Under the hood of the Tata Altroz will be a 1.2-litre petrol engine which will get a balancer shaft to help improve NVH levels. This powerhouse is capable of generating 85 bhp of power.
It may also get the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill that is available on the Nexon and it will be tuned to generate 102 bhp of power and 140Nm of twist. In addition to this, it will also get a diesel model that may be powered with a 1.5-litre unit, but no details about it have been confirmed yet.
Tata Motors will be launching the Altroz in the Indian market somewhere around the month of August 2019. When the Altroz will be launched it will compete against the Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the premium hatchback segment. It can be estimated that Tata Motors will retail the Altroz in a price range between 6-8 lakh (Ex-Showroom)

Renault Kwid electric version to be revealed globally
Renault will be unveiling the Kwid EV globally.
It is being developed in a joint venture between Renault and Dongfeng Motors.
At the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show, Renault will be unveiling the electric version of the Kwid. With this, it will be Renault’s smallest and the most affordable EV. The Kwid EV will be developed in collaboration with Dongfeng Motors and the production for the same will commence from the second half of this year.
As of now. The Renault Kwid EV will be manufactured for the Chinese market and it will also include some export markets. This electric hatchback will be manufactured at Dongfeng's production facility that is located in Shiyan, Central China. This production facility has an annual production capacity of 1,20,000 units.
Last year at the 2018 Paris Motor show, Renault had showcased a concept model known as the K-ZE. The Kwid EV is based on this concept model. The production model is expected to be developed with a sportying design which will be much close to the concept model. The front end will get a stylish grille, split headlamp unit which will get LED DRL and large headlamp like the one seen on the Harrier and the upcoming Venue SUV. At the rear, it gets a new tail light design and will be LED and the bumper is redesigned.
The powertrain that will power the Kwid EV is jointly developed by Renault and Dongfeng. This is being done under the eGT new Energy Automotive joint venture that was formed in 2018. As of now, the technical details have not been shared yet. But according to the concept model, it was said that it will get a range of 250km in the NEDC cycle. The Renault Kwid EV will be able to be charged by domestic as well as public charging infrastructure.
Renault is gearing up for the global launch of the Kwid EV. As of now, there is no confirmation whether it will be brought into the Indian market sooner or later. Renault is now working on the launch of the New Triber MPV which is expected to be launched in a few months.

More details of the Hyundai Venue released
Hyundai to unveil the upcoming Venue on the 17th of April 2019 in India.
The Hyundai Venue will go on sale from the month of May 2019.
Just before the unveiling, Hyundai has released official design sketches of the same.
Hyundai Motors will be unveiling the upcoming Venue in the Indian market on the 17th of April 2019. With this, alot is going around, as the unveiling date of the Hyundai Venue is nearing by.
Much details have gathered with the spy images floating all around the internet, also Hyundai has released the official teasers and official design sketches as well. Hence this helps to give us a clear idea of what we will be having in store.
Although the design sketches have chunky wheel arches and large wheels they will most probably not make it to the production spec model. What it will get is Hyundai’s cascading grille at the front along with a dual headlight setup.
This setup will be somewhat similar to the one seen on the Tata Harrier that gets slit-like lights on top and main headlight unit below it. Around the headlight unit is a square shape LED DRL’s.
The design sketches, also showcase that the A-pillar will be blacked out and it will also get roof rails on top. In addition to this, it is confirmed that the Venue will come equipped with a sunroof and diamond cut alloy wheels.
Whereas as we move to the rear end, it can be seen that the design and styling is a bit sober and simple as compared to the front fascia. The tail light unit is square shaped which adds up to the rugged look. The lower part of the rear bumper showcases scuff plate and above it, reflectors or auxiliary lights can be seen.
According to some spy images, we get to know some features and design of the cabin. But with the new interior design sketches it gives us a better idea of what will be available. Upfront the dashboard gets a simple yet modern look and according to the Korean manufacturer the cabin will be very user friendly. The infotainment unit on the dashboard will be placed high up hence giving the occupants a clear look. Just like other cars that roll out from Hyundai’s stable it gets a flat top on the dashboard. It is expected that Hyundai will get in paddle shifters for the automatic version and if it does come equipped then it will be a first in class features.
Powering the Hyundai Venue will a 1.4-litre petrol unit and 1.4-litre diesel unit. In addition to this, it will also get an option for a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will be matted with a dual clutch gearbox.
Although Hyundai will be unveiling the Venue on the 17th of April 2019, it will go on sale in the month of May 2019. Nothing much on the pricing is known yet, but we can estimate that Hyundai could retail the venue between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (Ex-Showroom). Once launched in the Indian market, the Hyundai Venue will compete against the Tata Harrier, upcoming MG Hector and the Jeep Compass.
