Venue Rival Citroen C3 SUV Design Leaked - Launch Soon
India-bound Venue rival Citroen C3 SUV design leaked via a scale model ahead of launch
Citroen India is preparing to launch 2 new sub-compact cars under 10 lakh this year – Citroen C3 and Citroen C3 Aircross sub-compact SUV and the design have been revealed via a scale model! Yes, Both the new cars will debut later this year around the festival season and will go on sale in India either by year end or early next year.
Like C5 Aircross, the C3 follow Citroen’s C-Cubed philosophy - Cool, Comfort and Clever. The Citroen C3 will rival cars like Hyundai i20 while the C3 Aircross SUV will compete with compact SUV like Kia Sonet, Venue, Nexon and top-end turbo variants of Magnite & Kiger.
Citroen C3 Exterior Design & Features
The C3 follow the quirky yet attractive design of C5 Aircross and looks Chic. Much like the bigger C5 Aircross, the C3 model gets the big two-part Citroen grille which is divided into the headlamps and the DRL. The design is a bit like the C3 hatch sold in Europe while the overall look is just like what you expect from Citroen. It also gets lots of colour coded accents including as seen on this model, orange accents on the side, roof-rails, mirrors and the front including the fog-lamp enclosures. It gets the usual SUV like design bits like the skid plate at the front, roof-rails, dual-tone, cladding and big alloys. It also looks a bit like the Hyundai Venue from the side with a crossover like slanting roof-line.

We expect funky interiors as well with a focus on comfort and practicality much like the C5. Expect a large touch screen infotainment with smartphone connectivity, sunroof, climate control and more while like the C5, it can have more options in terms of storage plus practicality.
Citroen C3 Engine and Powertrain
The Citroen C3 will be based on the Common Modular Platform (CMP). The Indian versions of C3 would measure less than 4-metre and be slightly smaller than the European C3 models in order to benefit from lower taxation to help Citroen price it aggresively under 10 lakh in India. The C3 will have a 1.2-litre turbo petrol on offer while no diesel would be there. Expect both manual and automatic gearboxes.
We think the C3 range will help to expand the Citroen brand in India since the C5 Aircross is an expensive niche SUV at the moment.
