First shown at the 2020 Auto Expo held in February the new Creta will be finally launched on the 17th of March so here is a first look of the car straight from the Hyundai factory.
The new Creta is bigger and has a new platform from the earlier Creta. But along with being bigger it is also stronger plus safer this time with a much stronger structure. In-fact the new Creta has 74.3 percent advanced high strength steel used.
In terms of design the new Creta is much more aggressive now with a much bigger grille and a new headlamp design which contains the headlamp plus LED DRLs and projectors. There are much more muscular lines too while there would be 17inch alloys for the top-end versions for the car.
The rear also gets a new design much like the front and gets a LED treatment for its lights too. The new Creta will get a lot of colour options and different alloy wheel designs too while dual-tone colours would also be there.
The interior is also completely different and much more luxurious from the earlier Creta. The design is much more luxurious plus it has a lot of features. You will see the big centre console with the touch-screen while the all digital instrument cluster also looks good. There is also an electronic handbrake plus a knob for the various modes.
There are two colour schemes for the interior with the all black for the top-end Turbo petrol while rest gets the beige and black. There is a lot more space over the earlier Creta with a reclinable rear seat plus the cushions are a nice touch. Even the boot is bigger and there are various storage places too.
Here the new Creta scores over pretty much everything out there. There is a 10.25 inch touchscreen with all the usual connectivity features but along with that you get a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, digital instrument, wireless charging, drive modes, rear disc brakes, window sunshades, powered driver’s seat, cooled glove box, rear seat recline, 8 speaker BOSE audio system, ventilated seats, air purifier etc.
There is also the new Bluelink 2 which adds more than 50 features to the system. This is a sim based internet service which pairs your smartphone to the car plus has a smartwatch app too. So you can say 'hello Bluelink' and you can open the sunroof or operate the seat ventilation, climate control etc. Of course there is also a remote start/stop, vehicle lock/unlock and more.
There would be three engine options and it starts with the 1.5l petrol which also gets a CVT automatic along with a manual. Then there is a 1.5l diesel which gets a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter AT. The flagship is the 1.4 turbo petrol with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The diesel is expected to give 20 kmpls plus.
