2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift Vs. old Innova Crysta
Toyota has just revealed the new facelifted Innova Crysta for the Indonesian market and we also expect the same for the Indian market next year when Toyota brings not only this but also the facelifted Fortuner which we have discussed here too. Now the new Innova Crysta while still being a minor update carries some changes and that makes the Innova more luxurious. What are they? Well find out in this comparison with the current old one.
Exterior Changes
The new Innova Crysta facelift is most recognizable from the front where the majority of the changes have been done. It all starts from the grille where it is no bigger and extends much lower along with having more slats. There is chrome added for further premium-ness while the headlamps are new LED units with DRLs. Further down you will have a new front bumper with a new skid plate and a new styled fog-lamp with changed housing for them. The new Innova Crysta facelift vs the old one looks more premium with slight changes. The wheels on the car are better looking too with a sportier set of 16inch wheels while there would be 17inch ones for the top-end version. The rear meanwhile stays more or less the same but there is a small element of black added at the back which is till the number plate area from the logo.
Interior Changes
Inside the changes are even less minimal when compared to the current Innova Crysta but the top-end version has more features along with subtle other tweaks. The new Innova gets an all black cabin which looks premium while inside there is a new 9inch touchscreen where it gets Android Auto and AppleCar Play finally. There is also a new instrument cluster while you also get a new air purifier too. We would have liked a sunroof but it is still not offered. Else like any top-end Innova you get tables, captain seats and more.
Engine
Toyota recently updated its Innova BS6 engine range by discounting its 2.8l diesel. Thus it gets a 2.4l diesel while the top-end petrol remains. There would also be manual and automatic versions. Toyota will carry forward these engine options to the facelift Innova Crysta with no change in them.
Price and Launch
Toyota will first launch the Fortuner facelift first and then launch the Innova Crysta facelift. The changes are minimal hence we do not think Toyota will increase the prices since they recently increased them for the BS6 version itself. The facelifted Innova Crysta will compete with the likes of the Kia Carnival plus to some extent the MG Hector Plus. Expect the new Innova Crysta facelift to be launched around the end of the next year. So while the changes are not huge, the new Innova does some updates which would be crucial to maintain its appeal and sales with new competition coming in.
