Nissan introduces hike by 5 per cent from Year 2020
-
Nissan to hike the prices on all its products by 5% from the start of 2020.
-
Datsun will also face the price hike from 2020.
-
According to Nissan the price hike is due to high input costs the manufacturer is facing.
By the end of the year, every automotive manufacturer tends to hike the prices of their products from the start of the new year. This is done because of the change in rates of raw materials, labour costs, logistics costs, increase in fuel charges and power consumptions. In addition to this, the price hike also owes to changes in taxation system and also upgrades the manufacturer gets to their products. Owing to transformation from BS-IV to BS-VI engine norms, automotive manufacturers have started announcing the hike in prices for their products in 2020.
Now one such automotive manufacturer, Nissan Motor India, announced a few days ago about the hike in prices. The Japanese car manufacturer has announced that they will increase the prices on their entire range of models by 5 percent. This hike in prices will be applicable from January 2020. According to Nissan, the hike has taken into place because of the high input costs.
The revision in price will also affect the Datsun range of products as well. Hence a hike of 5 percent will also be seen on the Datsun GO, Datsun GO+ and the Redi Go from the start of 2020.
In this announcement, Nissan Motor India’s, Managing Director, Mr Rakesh Srivastava sai, “In the current challenging market conditions, we are constrained to increase the price of all Nissan and Datsun models due to increased costs,".
With this, many other leading car manufacturers that include Maruti Suzuki India and Tata Motors have also announced that price hike in their range of products. Most of the hike in prices is due to the high input charges and also due to the transformation to BS-VI emission norms. This will indeed help to boost sales for the month of December 2019.
