Honda WR-V facelift

Honda launched the BS6 WR-V in India in July 2020.

The BS6 WR-V gets a significant facelift that makes the car look bolder than before. Unlike the Jazz that looks elegant and subtle, the WR-V is more of a tough and robust look.

This crossover from Honda now gets updated front design with more attention to detail on the headlights. The fog lamps have LEDs along with the headlights. The car houses a more modern looking body kit simultaneously exhibiting its rugged look.

Getting inside the WR-V, the car sports a 17.7cm touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has an inbuilt navigation system.

Other features in the interior include a sunroof, cruise control, adjustable steering column for reach and rake, climate control and many more.

The BS6 WR-V comes with two engine options-
1.2L petrol- 89bhp of power & 110nm of torque
1.5L diesel-100bhp of power & 200nm of torque

Both the engines are available with a 5-Speed manual transmission only. There is no option of an automatic currently.

Renault Kwid RXL
Kwid is an important product for Renault in India. Renault Kwid is one of the best selling cars for the company and has helped the brand to establish its name in India.

After Renault launched the car in India in September 2015, the Kwid saw a handful of upgrades in form of an AMT gearbox, the 1.0L engine & extra trims.

The latest Kwid from Renault was launched in July 2020 with a new variant added on the list known as ‘RXL’.

This new RXL variant is available now with the 0.8L & 1.0L petrol engine.

Unlike the earlier lineup where the 1.0L was only available with ‘RXT’ & ‘Climber’ variants, now you can get it with the RXL.

The RXL is more affordable than the top of the line variant. Another plus point is you can get an AMT gearbox that was again limited to ‘RXT’ & ‘Climber’.

Honda Civic BS6 Diesel

The new 10th gen Honda Civic was launched with a diesel engine in July 2020.

This new diesel engine is BS6 compliant i-DTEC 1.6L unit that churns out 118bhp of power 300nm of torque. The only bummer is that you cannot get the diesel engine with an automatic gearbox. It is available only with a 6-Speed manual transmission.

The claimed mileage being 23.9 kmpl, it is the best car in terms of fuel economy in its segment. Top speed of the car is clocked at 200kmph.

The diesel engine is offered in two trims-’VX’ & ‘ZX’.

Both of these trim packages offer six airbags in the car. The overall feature list of the vehicle is healthy but the top of the line ‘ZX’ offers an electric sunroof, automatic wipers, all-LED headlights and much more.

MG Hector Plus

The Hector Plus is basically a 6 seater version of the Hector with added features. The overall body of the car resembles the Hector but the Hector plus is a step ahead. For starters, the new car gets the additional third row of seats for better practicality of the 4.7m length of the car.

The middle row is now equipped with two comfortable captain chairs. The car gets premium tan leather upholstery with contrast stitching. The space in the first two rows is ample enough for adults but the new third row is best suited for kids.

In addition, you also get ‘i-Smart’ which is a voice assistant feature on the car that gets ‘Chit-Chat’ functionality that you must have seen in the advertisement.

It gets a new front grille, tweaked LEDs and a new set of bumpers with refreshed headlamps and tail lamps. The car boasts a huge dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 8 speaker audio system by Infinity and dedicated AC vents for the rear passenger comfort. Overall the interior is better than before with premium touches and you also get the exclusive ‘Sky-Blue’ paint for the car.

You can opt for an automatic DCT in the 1.5L turbo petrol. Also, the petrol engine gets Hybrid technology for the manual variant. There is no automatic transmission available for the 2.0L Diesel engine currently.

Hyundai Tucson Facelift

Hyundai launched the Tucson on 14th July 2020. The new vehicle has undergone refreshed styling updates to the interior as well as the exterior. The latest Tucson looks modern and has that body cladding around it to give it an SUV stance. The front of the car looks imposing with the large cascading Hyundai grille along with Penta LED headlamps.

Hyundai Tucson that sits in the premium segment gets various features such as panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, hill control assist, front & rear parking sensors and larger 18-inch rims.

The interior of Tucson now comes with an all-black scheme that gets the latest 20.32 cm HD infotainment system with Blue link technology. The car also gets a cooled glovebox, sunglass holder and illuminated boot.

Both of these engines are available in automatic gearbox only. Moreover, you get a 6-Speed automatic for the Petrol & it is the 2.0L Diesel that gets the 8-Speed AT gearbox.

There are two trim options- ‘GL’ & ‘GLS’.

You can also get the Tucson in a Four Wheel Drive powertrain option mated to the diesel engine only in ‘GLS’ trim.

Honda New City

Honda launched the fifth generation of the city in India. The new car is spacious than before and you also get a good list of features that include a sunroof, lane watch assist, Alexa-connect, paddle shifters and many more. It is based on a new platform that increases the overall cabin room in the car. The ride is also softer than before providing with increased comfort levels.

The new City also has some first in class features such as 8 speaker sound system, digital instrument cluster, ECO modes and more. Currently, there is no option to get the City in an automatic transmission for the 1.5L Diesel.

Hyundai Venue iMT

Hyundai launched the Venue iMT last month in India with an additional ‘Sport’ trim. Known as the iMT that stands for Intelligent Manual Transmission is an advanced iteration of a manual gearbox that gives the freedom to choose gears without disengaging the clutch manually. The Venue iMT is only available in the 1.0L turbo-petrol engine option with SX & SX(O) trim levels.

Talking about the trim packages, Hyundai has also added a ‘Sport’ trim on the Venue that comes with a black roof and a striking shade of silver. This ‘Sport’ trim is available with 1.0L iMT & DCT gearbox for the petrol. You can also opt for the ‘Sport’ trim in the 1.5L Diesel. The 1.0L DCT Sport model also gets a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters for staying true to the ‘Sport’ trim level.
